About this role

rePurpose is the Leading Packaging Sustainability and Compliance Platform for CPG brands. As pioneers of Verified Plastic Recovery, we enable companies to measure their footprint and ethically recover plastic waste from nature through our global partner network. Brands benefit from credible packaging claims that build customer loyalty while delivering measurable environmental and social impact.

We believe a world free of plastic waste is achievable within our lifetime. To accelerate our impact, we are hiring a Senior Impact Manager, Impact Projects to spearhead a global portfolio of high-impact circular economy and plastic recovery initiatives.

This is a builder-operator role for a disciplined leader who can navigate complex projects, mentor teams
with maturity, and engineer scalable systems that define the future of the circular economy. You will oversee an international project portfolio, manage a high-performing team of 4-5 people, and drive strategic impact assurance. We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of measurable outcomes—whether through ecosystem development, capital deployment, or strengthening partner networks. You should be motivated by tangible change and possess the technical judgment and
commercial acumen to deliver it. We are looking for someone who combines high ethics, strong technical judgment, commercial acumen, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

What You'll Own

- Lead a global impact portfolio with strong assurance and delivery discipline: Own the end-to-end execution and quality assurance of our global plastic recovery, recycling, and waste management projects
- Direct multiple workstreams across geographies, ensuring peak partner performance, rigorous risk management, and timely delivery.

- Has a demonstrated record of project management leadership to deliver multiple projects and handle multiple stakeholders at once

- Oversee rigorous project reviews, field verifications, and corrective action plans to maintain high implementation standards.

- Develop scalable SOPs and dashboards to streamline operations and reduce friction in portfolio management.

- Ensure all impact claims are credible, ethical, and defensible through robust documentation and real-world evidence.

- Build scalable SOPs, dashboards, controls, review systems, and portfolio rhythms that improve quality and reduce operational drag.

- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team:
- Cultivate a transparent, ambitious, and high-performing team culture focused on operational excellence.

- Establish clear priorities, accountability rhythms, and performance benchmarks for direct reports.

- Mentor and coach team members, empowering them to take ownership while maintaining high quality standards.

- Navigate complex interpersonal dynamics and partner escalations with poise and professional maturity.

- Build a team culture that is ambitious, transparent, ethical, empathetic, and high-performing

- Build new products, solutions, and operating models for the circular economy: Beyond management, you will identify market gaps and build the next generation of circularity solutions
- Conceptualize and launch new project formats and traceability products that address evolving industry needs.

- Collaborate across departments (BD, Product, Tech) to design commercially viable and ethically sound impact offerings.

- Identify opportunities to monetize new capabilities and optimize unit economics for sustainable growth.

- Bring a strong point of view on where waste management, recycling, traceability, responsible sourcing, and circular economy solutions are heading

- Strengthen partnerships, client engagement, and business growth: Act as a leader and ambassador for rePurpose with global partners, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with recyclers, aggregators, and implementation partners globally.

- Drive business growth by contributing to high-stakes proposals, client narratives, and impact
financing discussions.

- Contribute to business proposals, project design, budgets, client narratives, impact models, and
funding conversations.

- Communicate complex technical and operational realities clearly to clients, internal teams, and
external stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Must-have experience

- 10-12+ years of experience in impact delivery, circular economy, waste management, recycling, sustainability operations, development-sector implementation, ESG, audit/assurance, supply chain, social enterprise, or allied sectors.

- Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects with on-ground implementation.

- Must have experience managing international projects and stakeholders.

- Proven people leadership experience, ideally managing managers, senior associates, field-facing teams, or partner-facing teams.

- Strong technical understanding of project controls, documentation, traceability, audits, assurance, monitoring, compliance, due diligence, or verification systems.

- Experience managing budgets, partner contracts, vendor performance, grants, funder relationships, impact financing, or deployment of capital in the development/social impact sector.

- Strong commercial judgment, including ability to write proposals, develop SOWs, shape project budgets, build business cases, or support revenue-generating solutions.

- Excellent written and verbal communication, including client-facing presentations and senior stakeholder engagement.

- High comfort with ambiguity, fast growth, travel, field realities, and imperfect data.

Strong pluses

- Experience in plastic waste management, recycling, EPR, PCR value chains, MRFs, informal waste systems, responsible sourcing, or environmental compliance.

- Experience building new sustainability products, circular economy solutions, traceability systems, assurance models, project financing models, or market-based impact programs.

- Exposure to global clients, auditors, certification bodies, development finance, philanthropic funding, or multinational project portfolios.

- Backgrounds from organizations such as PCX, CleanHub, Plastic for Change, or similar circular economy, plastic recovery, responsible sourcing, climate, or social impact organizations would be highly relevant.

- Experience leading projects that raised funding, deployed capital, built partner networks, or converted impact models into commercially viable offerings.

The Kind of Leader Who Will Thrive/ You may be a strong fit if you are

- Deeply motivated by impact and can show it through your CV, not just your interview answers.

- Business-minded but technically sound.

- Commercially sharp without compromising on ethics.

- Comfortable moving between field operations, data reviews, client conversations, team coaching, and strategy.

- Strong at building systems, not just working within systems.

- Able to run steady operations while also creating new ideas, products, and processes.

- Confident, outward-facing, and engaging with clients, partners, and teams.

- High on ownership, transparency, empathy, and accountability.

- Low ego, high integrity, and ambitious for both impact and growth.

This Role May Not Be for You If

- You prefer narrow execution over broad ownership.

- You are motivated by sustainability as a theme but have limited evidence of real implementation.

- You are strong in reporting but weak in field realities, partner management, or operational problem-solving. You enjoy strategy but do not follow through on execution.

- You are uncomfortable with audits, documentation, data quality, risk management, or accountability systems.

- You struggle to lead people, give feedback, resolve conflict, or build trust.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 6 months, you will have created continuity across a critical impact portfolio, strengthened team rhythms, identified key portfolio risks, improved partner and documentation systems, and built trust with internal and external stakeholders and already charted out a path for new impact-led products for the industry.
