Lenovo is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Regulatory Counsel to support and help shape its global asset finance and leasing platform within Lenovo Global Financial Services (LGFS). LGFS is a Lease Operations Team supporting Lenovo's Solutions and Services Group (SSG).

This is a senior, strategic global role, working closely with Legal, Compliance, Treasury, Credit, Finance and senior business stakeholders across regions. The business supports some of the world's largest and most complex technology deployments and continues to expand rapidly across regulated and semi-regulated markets. The role offers significant responsibility and influence, supporting Lenovo's innovation-led growth, including the financing of AI-driven, infrastructure-heavy and cross-border technology solutions.

The position is ideally suited to candidates from a banking or regulated financial services environment, as well as senior asset finance or leasing lawyers looking to deepen and formalise their financial regulatory expertise within a global, in-house financial services platform.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide senior-level strategic legal and regulatory advice across LGFS's global leasing and asset finance activities.
- Lead regulatory assessments, licensing analysis and market-entry initiatives in support of Lenovo's global expansion strategy.
- Act as a senior point of contact for regulators, supervisory authorities and external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
- Partner with the Compliance function, which owns group-wide AML/KYC/ABC policies and frameworks, providing dedicated legal and regulatory guidance to LGFS.
- Support complex cross-border financing, leasing and receivables-funding structures, collaborating with transactional lawyers on transactions involving large-scale AI and infrastructure deployments.
- Independently manage regulatory workstreams, monitor progress, address and escalate issues, and maintain effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.
- Deliver commercially focused legal and regulatory advice, lead negotiations where necessary, and balance business objectives with legal and regulatory risks.
- Identify emerging regulatory risks and develop pragmatic mitigation strategies, while shaping regulatory playbooks, internal frameworks, policies and guidance and contributing to knowledge sharing across the Legal team.

Required experience & skills:

- Qualified solicitor or regulatory specialist with at least 12 years' post-qualification experience in financial regulation or asset finance law, gained in private practice or an in-house environment.
- Essential background in banking, financial services or another regulated financial services environment, with deep knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks or substantial experience advising on asset finance and leasing transactions.
- Experience in cross-border leasing, asset finance, equipment finance or receivables finance; the ability to independently draft and negotiate finance and security documentation is highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing regulatory change implementation across master template documentation and developing or enhancing internal procedures and governance frameworks.
- Direct experience engaging with regulators or supervisory authorities is highly desirable.
- Ability to advise confidently across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory regimes, effectively engaging and supervising external counsel.
- Strong commercial judgement, risk awareness, negotiation skills and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach, combined with excellent communication and cultural awareness to influence senior global stakeholders.
- Comfortable working internationally across regions and time zones, with an interest in leveraging legal AI software and emerging technologies; committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and supporting Lenovo's ESG ambitions.

Senior asset finance or leasing lawyers with less formal regulatory exposure will also be considered, provided they demonstrate a strong interest and clear commitment to developing their regulatory expertise within a global financial services environment.

Why join LGFS?

- Join a Fortune 500, award-winning technology company operating at the forefront of AI, infrastructure and next-generation enterprise technology.
- Be part of a rapidly growing global asset finance platform, where regulatory frameworks, operating models and governance are evolving alongside business expansion.
- Take on a first-of-its-kind leadership role, becoming the foundational provider of dedicated financial regulatory expertise within LGFS.
- Shape the regulatory strategy, standards and playbooks for a global business, with genuine ownership and the opportunity to build from the ground up.
- Support the financing of complex, high-value AI and infrastructure deployments, gaining exposure to some of Lenovo's most strategic initiatives.
- Work in an organisation that values ESG leadership, diversity, responsible growth and sustainability.
- Benefit from high visibility, direct access to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence a global, matrixed organisation.
- Enjoy a collaborative international team environment with hybrid/remote and flexible working arrangements.
