About this role
About the Role:
We’re seeking a hands-on Project Manager – Finance to support a US-based client
operating fuel stations and convenience stores. This is a working-manager role, not a purely
supervisory one: the successful candidate leads by doing — reviewing actual numbers,
checking actual work, and staying close enough to the detail to catch problems before the
client does. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with a genuine sense
of ownership: they don’t wait to be asked, they don’t stop at delegating, and they follow every
task through to completion rather than handing it off and assuming it’s done. This role
oversees the finance and reconciliation teams, reviews monthly and period-end closings and
P&Ls, and serves as the primary liaison with the client.
Financial Oversight & Review:
• Oversee the day-to-day work of the finance team and reconciliation team, ensuring
accuracy, quality, and timeliness of deliverables — and personally review the underlying
work, not just the status reports.
• Review monthly closing and period-end closing activities, ensuring all deadlines and
reporting standards are met.
• Review P&Ls, financial statements, and management reports before submission to the
client; nothing goes to the client without the PM’s own review.
• Ensure end-to-end accounting cycle activities (from transaction recording through
reconciliation, closing, and reporting) are executed correctly.
• Conduct regular, unannounced spot checks on team members’ work — transactions,
reconciliations, and reports — rather than relying only on scheduled reviews, to catch errors
early and keep quality consistent
Team Leadership & Facilitation:
• Lead as a hands-on, helping manager: work alongside the team on complex or urgent items
rather than only assigning and monitoring from a distance.
• Facilitate and support the finance & reconciliation teams, removing roadblocks and
providing direct, working guidance on complex accounting matters.
• Plan and prioritize the team’s workload around closing calendars and client deadlines, and
step in personally when deadlines are at risk.
• Establish and monitor internal review controls to maintain consistent quality across all
deliverables, and be personally accountable for gaps when they occur.
Client Liaison & Communication:
• Act as the primary point of contact between the finance & reconciliation teams and the US based client, and take full personal ownership of every client request from the moment it’s
received.• When the client provides requirements, scope, or direction, take ownership of translating
that into clear, actionable tasks for the team — rather than simply forwarding the request and
waiting for the team to interpret it.
• Lead client discussions and meetings, presenting financial results, closing status, and
resolution plans
clearly and confidently.
• Proactively communicate issues, risks, and updates to the client — before being asked and follow through on every commitment end-to-end, personally confirming completion rather
than assuming it
happened.
Ownership & Accountability
• Own outcomes, not just tasks: if a deliverable is late, wrong, or incomplete, the PM is
accountable for it regardless of who on the team produced it.
• Treat every client requirement as the PM’s own responsibility to see through to completion
— closing the loop with the client only once the work has actually been verified as done.
• Maintain visibility into team output through regular, sometimes random, checks rather than
trusting status updates alone.
• Escalate proactively when something is at risk, rather than waiting for the client or senior
management to notice first.
Education & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; ACCA, CA, CMA,
or an equivalent qualification is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, with demonstrated experience
managing or leading senior teams.
• Proven experience as a team lead or project manager within a finance function, ideally
serving US-based clients
Preferred Skills
• Strong knowledge of the end-to-end accounting cycle, monthly and period-end closing,
reconciliations, and P&L review.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deal directly and
professionally with USbased clients — including delivering difficult updates without waiting to
be pushed.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, project management, and problem-solving
skills.
• A demonstrated ownership mentality: comfortable being hands-on, comfortable being held
accountable for team output, and proactive about checking work rather than assuming it’s
correct
Shift Time:
• Monday to Friday
• Onsite role
• 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT)
• 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST
