About this role

You will:

- Research anything, anywhere. Given a question, dig through every source you can reach and find the answer — even when it’s buried, scattered, or hard to get to.

- Consolidate it into a clean format. Turn what you find into something usable: a structured dataset, a mini-report, or a clear summary — uniform, organised, and easy to work with.

- Verify accuracy. Once reports are assembled, check the precision of every fact and figure. This is where attention to detail matters most: a single unchecked number can undermine the whole piece.

- Build presentation materials. Turn validated findings into basic visualisations and presentation materials (typically in PowerPoint) that communicate clearly.

- Work confidently with data and analytical tools. Use Excel to collect, clean, structure, and analyse data. Apply basic Python or SQL where appropriate, and build dashboards to make findings accessible and actionable.

- Leverage AI tools throughout the research process. Use AI-powered tools for information discovery, research synthesis, data extraction, and processing both quantitative and qualitative information. Critically assess and verify AI-generated outputs.

- Turn data into insights. Identify patterns, trends, and meaningful findings in complex datasets, translating them into clear, evidence-based conclusions. Be ready to learn new subject areas, including healthcare and social policy, through hands-on project work.

Requirements:

- You're a fresh graduate or early-career professional, ready for an exciting next step in your career.

- An economics background. Much of our work is economic in nature, so you need a genuine grounding in economics — you understand what the economy is, what business is, and how it all works. This isn’t a fit for a purely humanities profile with no economic background.

- Strong analytical and critical thinking. You can work with information, identify patterns and connections, interpret data, sanity-check facts, and catch things that simply don’t make sense.

- Self-direction. You’re able to find your own way to a solution when problems come up, rather than waiting to be unblocked at every turn.

- Proactivity. You take initiative, communicate ahead of time, and don’t sit and wait for someone to come ask you where things stand.

- Clear communication. You can explain what you found, where, and why it’s reliable — and you take in feedback and act on it.

- Confident Excel skills. You’re comfortable working with data in Excel, including organising, cleaning, structuring, and analysing datasets.

- Basic technical skills. You have some working knowledge of Python or SQL and an understanding of how to use data visualisation tools or build dashboards.

- Practical experience with AI tools. You know how to use AI in your work — from research and information gathering to data extraction, processing, and qualitative analysis — and understand the importance of checking its outputs.

- Professional working English. You can comfortably work with English-language sources, understand written materials, and communicate in English.

- Nice to have: experience with dashboards or more advanced data analysis, or exposure to healthcare and social policy. No prior experience in healthcare or social policy is required — you'll learn the subject matter through projects.
