About this role

Job Requirements

At Siemens Healthineers, we pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare. For everyone. Everywhere. Sustainably. In Oxford, you’ll join an engineering environment where collaboration, technical expertise and fresh thinking come together to improve how new products move successfully into production. We’re looking for an NPI Lead Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, bringing people together and taking ownership of delivery.

About the role

As an NPI Lead Engineer, you’ll take a leading role in delivering New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, helping ensure engineering and manufacturing deliverables are planned and completed to a high standard.

This is an exciting opportunity if you want to broaden your leadership experience while remaining close to the engineering. You won’t have formal direct reports, but you will coordinate the work of colleagues across projects and support the development of an intern. This makes the role particularly attractive for someone looking to take the next step towards people leadership.

You’ll combine your own project deliverables with responsibility for coordinating wider team activities. When technical challenges arise during product launch, you’ll help bring the right people together, create clarity around the problem and drive the next steps towards resolution.

What you'll be doing

- Lead the planning, monitoring and delivery of engineering activities across NPI projects.
- Take ownership of key manufacturing deliverables, including tooling, NCs, BIs, MBOMs and PFMEAs.
- Manage the problem tracker during product launches, ensuring issues have clear ownership, next steps and appropriate follow-up.
- Work alongside the other Lead Engineer and wider team to resolve technical problems and planning challenges.
- Help diagnose root causes of complex engineering issues and develop practical, robust solutions.
- Identify potential blockers and risks early and work collaboratively to resolve or mitigate them.
- Coordinate project activities across different teams, functions and stakeholders without relying on formal line-management authority.
- Support, coach and positively influence colleagues to enable successful delivery.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and development support to an intern.
- Manage project plans, key milestones and deliverables in line with PDP requirements.
- Communicate progress, risks and priorities clearly to stakeholders, escalating appropriately when required.
- Apply Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to help establish efficient, reliable and robust manufacturing processes.
- Work across functions, departments and suppliers to achieve the best outcome for the project and the wider business.

Work Experience

We’re interested in someone who combines sound engineering judgement with an inclusive, collaborative approach to leadership.

You’ll ideally bring:

- Experience of New Product Introduction within a complex technical or manufacturing environment.
- A strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and how they contribute to successful product introduction.
- Knowledge of DFM principles and an ability to translate them into robust manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with experience identifying root causes and turning complex issues into clear actions.
- The confidence to take ownership of plans and deliverables while bringing others with you.
- Good project-management and organisational skills, including managing priorities, milestones, risks and changing requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and levels.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to coach and support others.
- An interest in developing your leadership capabilities. Previous formal people-management experience is not required.
- Familiarity with relevant engineering and business systems. Experience with tools such as SAP, CAD, PowerApps, Access or Teamcenter would be useful.
- An Engineering or Business degree, or another relevant engineering qualification, is desirable rather than essential.

What matters most is your ability to create structure around complex challenges, work constructively with others and take responsibility for helping a project move forward.
