Job Description

What you will do

In this role, you will serve as the day-to-day strategic media lead supporting Amgen’s U.S. Medical Affairs organization, helping establish and operationalize a consistent approach to paid media across Medical initiatives. You will bring strong pharmaceutical media expertise, with particular emphasis on HCP audiences and digital media, to help Medical teams understand where and how paid media can effectively support scientific communication and educational objectives. You will provide strategic guidance throughout the planning process, challenge and refine agency recommendations, and ensure media strategies, investments, activation plans, and measurement approaches remain aligned to Medical goals and applicable governance requirements.

As the Medical media capability continues to evolve, you will also help shape scalable ways of working, strengthen agency and stakeholder partnerships, identify opportunities for innovation, and build confidence in how paid media can support Medical Affairs objectives.

- Guide and challenge agency strategy and recommendations to ensure audiences, channels, partners, investments, activation plans, and measurement approaches align to the Media Brief and Medical objectives.
- Evaluate agency recommendations for strategic fit, executional feasibility, risks, gaps, and opportunities before plans are advanced for Medical decision-making.
- Advise Medical stakeholders on where and how paid media can support scientific and educational objectives, including relevant opportunities, limitations, and investment considerations.
- Provide strategic guidance across HCP media channels, partners, platforms, audience approaches, and emerging capabilities.

- Ensure approved strategies are translated accurately into tactical plans, activation, optimization, and measurement.
- Manage day-to-day agency partnership, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and escalations across Medical media initiatives.
- Advise campaign performance, measurement, reporting, and optimization in partnership with agency and analytics teams, translating results into actionable recommendations and learnings.

- Partner across Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Procurement, Analytics, Technology, and other functions to address initiative-specific requirements and dependencies.
- Coordinate appropriately across Medical and Commercial media activity to identify potential duplication, audience saturation, inventory conflicts, or other executional considerations while maintaining distinct functional decision-making.
- Help establish and continuously improve the Medical media operating model, processes, tools, and standards as the capability matures.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and Test & Learn activity across partners, platforms, audience approaches, content formats, and measurement capabilities.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical HCP media ecosystem, emerging capabilities, partner offerings, and industry best practices.
