About this role

You will be responsible for owning thermal design and optimization for new hardware systems and evaluating advanced thermal technologies. The engineer will solve heat-transfer problems at the component, sub-system, system, and rack levels using thermal fundamentals, analytical tools, simulation, and hands-on hardware validation.
This role offers the opportunity to work across end-to-end thermal engineering, including technology development, platform design, lab test development, data center deployment, and operational support. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineering partners and external vendors to drive thermal programs from conception through deployment, with scalable and reliable methodologies in mind.
you will also provide in-region support to identify and close gaps between design intent, supplier execution, validation readiness, and deployment. You will convert recurring learnings into clear specifications, test methods, checklists, and standards that can scale across programs.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations partners to ensure effective thermal design from the component level through full hardware systems and smooth product deployment
Develop and execute test plans to measure the thermal performance and efficiency of hardware systems and thermal technologies. Quantitatively simulate and analyze hardware cooling schemes
Design and investigate advanced thermal cooling solutions for large-scale hardware deployments. Balance trade-offs among performance, cost, power, reliability, manufacturability, and other critical parameters
Create analytical and numerical models using computational fluid dynamics tools or other relevant simulation tools to describe system thermodynamics and heat transfer
Engage and lead external vendors, including ODMs and component suppliers, on design, test, qualification, issue resolution, and production readiness
Identify and close engineering gaps between thermal requirements and in-region execution. Provide hands-on support for design transfer, build readiness, test correlation, technical troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
Develop reusable thermal specifications, validation methods, checklists, and technical standards based on design, validation, manufacturing, and deployment learnings
Develop and publish case studies or technical papers describing thermal analysis of cooling systems and technologies
Establish parameters for thermal design and testing, and correlate design and test results with model predictions
