About this role

Stylish, grounded, uplifting – these values live through everything we do at Boden. Without the collaboration, honesty and friendship between our teams, we wouldn't be where we are today. We curate a world of beauty that's ethical, inclusive – and importantly – good fun. We inspire you to live your best life. We are Boden.

THE ROLE

Boden.com is where almost all of our customers shop, so how it looks, feels and performs matters enormously. We're creating a new senior role in our Ecommerce team for someone who wants to own that experience, across womenswear and childrenswear, in every market we trade in.

You'll run trading, visual merchandising and our experimentation programme, with a team of six behind you. You'll be the person who can say, with evidence, how our customer really shops, and you'll use that to shape what brand, product and marketing teams decide to do.

Location: North Acton, three days a week, two from home.

How we lead at Boden

Being a manager at Boden is about giving people clarity, backing them properly, and helping them do their best work.

You make things make sense. You take big ideas and turn them into clear priorities, so people know what they’re doing and (most importantly) why it matters.

Your communication is clear and open – you listen and you don’t overcomplicate things.

You take responsibility. When big decisions need to be made, you make them. When things change, you adapt. And when things don’t go to plan, you own it and move things forward.

You stay close to what matters – our customer, our brand and our goals – using that to guide decisions and keep teams aligned.

Most importantly, you build a team people actually want to be a part of – where people feel trusted, supported and able to grow.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Trading and visual merchandising

- Our onsite trading plan, improving the experience to drive revenue, traffic, conversion, units per order and average order value across womenswear and childrenswear
- The customer's experience from end to end: where we send traffic, how pages are merchandised, what she searches for and how we respond, including navigation, filters and edits
- Our visual merchandising strategy, making sure category pages and edits are commercial, cohesive and true to the way each range was designed

Experimentation

- Our web experimentation programme, working with Digital Product, UX and Web Analytics to build, prioritise and deliver a testing roadmap at pace
- Using AI tools to speed up analysis, so we get to clearer understanding and faster action, not just more complexity
- Keeping an eye on what the rest of the market is doing, and turning it into opportunities we can act on

Insight and influence

- Using Adobe Analytics to understand how our customer shops, and telling that story well enough to change what brand, product and marketing decide to do
- Clear, data-led monthly briefs for the brand team on product and category focus
- Partnering with email and performance marketing on destinations and links, and holding traffic quality to account

Leadership

- Managing, coaching and developing the trading and visual merchandising teams
- Spotting where each person's strengths lie and building a pipeline of future leaders from them
- Providing senior cover across the wider Ecommerce function

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

- Significant ecommerce trading experience in fashion retail
- Ownership of, or strong influence over, visual merchandising strategy at scale. You can tell us which decisions you made and why
- A track record of defining and running a web experimentation or CRO programme, with results you can point to
- Real fluency in how customers behave online, and the judgement to turn that into commercial and brand decisions
- The confidence to partner with performance marketing, CRM, brand and product teams, and to challenge them well
- Experience leading a team, and evidence of having developed people into bigger roles
- Experience across international markets and strong forecasting skills are useful, but not essential

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

Someone credible enough to hold their own on brand and product decisions, who can turn complicated data into plain English and a short list of things worth doing. You think in shades of grey, not just black and white, so you can weigh a test that makes money against what it does for the brand.

You're ambitious and hungry to progress, without the ego. You like owning things, working at pace and making a visible difference. You build an open, collaborative team and invest in the people in it. And you're curious about how AI changes the way a team like this works: asking better questions, not just producing more analysis.

OUR BEHAVIOURS

- At Boden, how we work matters just as much as what we deliver.

- We keep things simple. We say what we mean, keep each other in the loop, and follow through on what we’ve said we’ll do.

- We care about doing a good job – and we care about each other. We’re always kind, often honest, and we will push for high standards without making it heavy.

- We know what we’re good at, we lean on each other when needed, and we show up as a team – taking ownership and getting things done together.
