Job Summary: Our client, a growing energy services company, is seeking a Commercial Contracts Attorney to join its legal team in Houston. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who enjoys partnering with the business, managing complex commercial agreements, and helping strengthen contract and risk-management processes within a growing organization.

Position Overview
The successful candidate will serve as a key advisor on commercial contracting matters, working closely with senior leadership and operational stakeholders across multiple business units. This role offers significant visibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in enhancing the organization's contracts and risk management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.

- Support customer-facing and revenue-generating contracts, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and related commercial agreements.

- Review vendor, subcontractor, and operational agreements.

- Identify and advise on commercial and contractual risks.

- Partner with business stakeholders to provide practical, business-focused guidance.

- Develop and improve contracting processes, templates, and workflows.

- Support multiple business units on a variety of legal and risk-management matters.

- Help establish greater consistency and discipline around contract management and risk assessment.

Qualifications

- JD and active bar license

- 8+ years of commercial contracts experience.

- Strong experience negotiating and managing customer, vendor, subcontractor, MSA, NDA, and SOW agreements.

- Excellent understanding of contractual risk allocation and mitigation.

- Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities.

- Strong business judgment and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience in energy, industrial, construction, engineering, or related industries preferred
