Technology , you will serve as a trusted advisor to product, engineering,
technology, privacy, security, and business teams, helping translate complex
legal, regulatory, and ethical considerations into practical solutions that
enable innovation while managing risk. You will play a key role in developing
and implementing AI governance frameworks, advising on emerging regulatory
requirements, supporting technology transactions, and ensuring that our
products and services are designed and deployed responsibly across global
markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner
with product, engineering, data science, privacy, security, and business
stakeholders to develop and implement governance frameworks that enable
responsible AI innovation while ensuring compliance with applicable laws,
regulations, and internal policies.
- Advise
on the legal, regulatory, and ethical implications of AI, machine
learning, and emerging technologies throughout the product lifecycle, from
design and development to deployment and commercialization.
- Develop
and maintain policies, standards, controls, and operational processes to
support AI governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor
and analyze global developments in AI regulation, including the EU AI Act,
emerging U.S. state AI laws, and other international frameworks, and
translate complex requirements into actionable business guidance.
- Support
the development, review, and implementation of AI risk assessments,
governance processes, and mitigation strategies for AI-enabled products
and services.
- Collaborate
with cross-functional teams to assess and manage legal risks associated
with AI systems, including transparency, fairness, accountability,
explainability, bias, security, and human oversight considerations.
- Provide
legal support for technology, AI, and corporate transactions, including
conducting due diligence, negotiating commercial agreements, and
identifying and mitigating AI-specific legal and regulatory risks.
- Advise
on intellectual property matters relating to AI systems, including
training data rights, licensing, ownership of models and outputs, and
protection of proprietary technology.
- Help
safeguard highly sensitive, confidential, proprietary, and privileged
information through the implementation of appropriate governance and legal
controls.
- Deliver
practical training and guidance to internal stakeholders on AI governance,
emerging legal developments, and responsible AI practices.
Essential Qualifications
- J.D.,
LL.B., or equivalent law degree, and admission to practice law in at least
one jurisdiction.
- 5+
years of legal experience advising on technology, AI, machine learning,
data, privacy, or digital product matters in a technology-driven
environment.
- Strong
knowledge of global AI regulatory frameworks and emerging legislative
developments, including the EU AI Act and evolving U.S. and international
AI regulations.
- Experience
developing and implementing AI governance, compliance, and risk management
frameworks.
- Demonstrated
ability to partner effectively with product, engineering, and technical
teams to operationalize legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strong
understanding of the legal and regulatory considerations associated with
AI technologies, including model governance, transparency, accountability,
and fairness.
- Knowledge
of intellectual property issues relating to AI, including training data
usage, model ownership, licensing, and AI-generated outputs.
- Experience
conducting risk assessments and developing practical mitigation strategies
for technology and AI-related risks.
- Excellent
analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background
in privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA,
and other global privacy frameworks.
- Familiarity
with AI ethics principles, algorithmic fairness, responsible AI standards,
and industry best practices.
- Technical
education, experience, or demonstrated ability to understand AI/ML
concepts, data science methodologies, and emerging technologies.
- Experience
supporting global organizations operating across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience
advising on complex technology transactions, SaaS agreements, cloud
services, and strategic technology partnerships.
