Construction Materials Technician - CMT Job Description Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives regarding construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results. Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas. May assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites while adhering to strict safety standards. Responsibilities

Essential Skills

- Experience in concrete, soil, and asphalt testing.
- Knowledge of construction materials testing and sampling analysis.
- Ability to use equipment such as NUKE GAUGE and Nuclear density gauge.
- Proficiency in materials testing, including aggregate and concrete testing.
- 0 - 2+ years of experience in testing concrete, soil, and/or asphalt.
- High School diploma required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Comfortable working outside.
- Associates degree in construction, engineering, geology, or psychology preferred.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Civil/Environmental or similar degree with an EIT is a plus.
- Clean driving record.

Work Environment The role involves 75% fieldwork and 25% office work. Testing will be conducted at the job site, with documentation done in the office, and some lab testing in the laboratory. The company provides a truck for field travel, requiring a clean driving record. The candidate will work in small teams of 1-3 people depending on job requirements. The office culture promotes a 'can do' attitude, with an expectation to stay productive even during slow periods. The dress code includes boots, jeans, and company-provided attire.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
