Entry Level Electrical Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Substation Engineer to support the design and delivery of high-voltage substation projects. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will assist with electrical calculations, engineering designs, construction packages, and project coordination while developing your technical skills in power systems and substation engineering. Responsibilities

- Assist with the design of high-voltage substations (69kV-500kV).
- Prepare engineering drawings and schematics using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Perform basic electrical calculations and analyses related to power systems.
- Develop one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and design documentation.
- Support the creation of technical reports, specifications, and construction packages.
- Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental teams on project designs.
- Maintain project documentation and follow quality standards.
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with internal teams and clients.
- Learn and apply industry standards including IEEE, NEC, and NESC.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Knowledge of electrical power systems and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation through coursework, internships, or professional experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and develop electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- EIT certification or interest in pursuing licensure.
- Exposure to Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor, or other 3D design software.
- Basic understanding of substations, power delivery systems, and high-voltage equipment.
- Familiarity with NEC, NESC, and utility industry standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
