Job Title: Civil Engineer Job Description
Join a reputable full-service civil engineering firm that has been a cornerstone in the industry for over 50 years. We are seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer with a focus on land development for commercial and private sector projects. The role offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Engage in land development projects, including road and land grading.
- Utilize AutoCAD (preferably LDD) for design and drafting tasks.
- Work on projects such as single lot developments, existing subdivision projects, and pond retrofits.
- Specific engineering tasks will involve pond retrofits, which include designing outflow and control structures, and modifying riser pipes, valves, weirs, and other elements.
- Design stormwater management systems for roadway corridors with an emphasis on environmentally sensitive design.
- Conduct culvert analysis and design, stream restoration, and hydraulic modeling.
Essential Skills
- 0-3 years of experience in land development, stormwater management, sediment control, and grading.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience in Montgomery County and PG County is highly desirable.
- Strong independent thinking and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in land development and related fields is preferred.
- Experience in both private and public sectors is advantageous.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Civil 3D is highly preferred.
Work Environment
The Silver Spring headquarters hosts around 50 employees and offers a collaborative project team environment. A hybrid schedule may be entertained based on the candidate's preferences. Additionally, the company supports ongoing education by reimbursing future certifications such as PMP or CMP.

This is a Contract position based out of Annapolis, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
