About this role

The Parts Account Representative is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers while driving parts sales and supporting the aftermarket business of Sydenstricker + Nobbe Partners. This position serves as a key point of contact for agricultural, commercial, turf, and other equipment customers, helping them identify and obtain the correct parts and solutions for their equipment needs.

The Parts Account Representative will actively pursue new business opportunities, maintain existing accounts, provide knowledgeable product recommendations, prepare quotes, process orders, and coordinate with Parts, Service, and Sales departments to provide an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, dependable, and comfortable building relationships while working in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing parts customers and accounts.

- Proactively contact customers to identify parts needs and sales opportunities.

- Develop new customer accounts and expand the company's parts customer base.

- Serve as a knowledgeable and responsive resource for customers.

- Maintain regular communication with key accounts to understand their equipment and operational needs.

- Follow up on quotes, orders, backorders, and customer requests.

- Provide professional and timely customer service.

Parts Sales

- Sell agricultural, turf, commercial, and equipment parts to customers.

- Identify opportunities for additional parts sales and related products.

- Recommend appropriate parts based on equipment application, customer requirements, and manufacturer specifications.

- Prepare accurate parts quotes and communicate pricing and availability.

- Monitor open quotes and follow up to increase sales opportunities.

- Promote seasonal parts, maintenance, and promotional programs.

- Work toward established sales and gross-profit objectives.

Account Development

- Establish and maintain a regular call and contact schedule with assigned accounts.

- Identify high-potential customers and develop strategies to increase business.

- Research customer purchasing history and identify opportunities for growth.

- Develop relationships with farms, contractors, municipalities, landscapers, commercial businesses, and other applicable customers.

- Participate in customer visits, sales calls, demonstrations, and dealership events as needed.

- Maintain accurate customer information and sales activity within company systems.

Parts Department Support

- Work closely with Parts Counter Representatives, Parts Managers, Service Managers, and technicians to ensure customer needs are met.

- Assist with identifying parts using electronic parts catalogs, manuals, serial numbers, and equipment information.

- Assist in locating parts throughout the dealership network when necessary.

- Monitor special orders, backorders, and customer orders.

- Help coordinate parts delivery and pickup requirements.

- Communicate customer needs and concerns to appropriate dealership personnel.

- Assist with inventory-related activities and identification of stocking opportunities.

Administrative Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate customer, quote, and order information.

- Process sales orders and related documentation accurately.

- Follow established pricing, discount, credit, and payment policies.

- Monitor account balances and communicate outstanding issues as appropriate.

- Prepare reports as requested by management.

- Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information.

- Complete required paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.

The Parts Account Representative is expected to:

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Previous experience in parts, equipment, agriculture, automotive, sales, customer service, or a related field.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.

- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.

- Basic computer skills and ability to learn dealership software.

- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred

- Previous agricultural equipment or dealership experience.

- Parts sales experience.

- Knowledge of agricultural, turf, commercial, or construction equipment.

- Experience using electronic parts catalogs.

- Experience with CRM, dealership management, or inventory systems.

- Previous outside sales or account-management experience.

Physical Requirements

The Parts Account Representative may be required to:

- Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the dealership and parts areas.

- Occasionally lift and carry parts and equipment weighing up to [50] pounds.

- Work around machinery, vehicles, equipment, and warehouse environments.

- Travel to customer locations and other dealership locations as needed.

- Operate a company vehicle when required and authorized.

Work Environment

The Parts Account Representative will work in a combination of office, dealership, parts counter, warehouse, and customer environments. The position may involve exposure to noise, dust, outdoor weather conditions, equipment, and machinery.

Some travel may be required to visit customers, attend company meetings, participate in training, and support dealership events.
