Job Purpose

Assist and fulfil the role and responsibilities of relieving Creditors clerk and Debtors clerk.

Key Responsibilities

The core functions define the key areas of responsibility for this role, reflecting the accountabilities and expected outputs outlined in the competency-based profile. These are the primary activities through which the role delivers value to the business.

- Reconciling of accounts (Creditors and Debtors)
- Adhoc functions
- Processing of PO’s, GRV’s and invoices for payment
- ICO balancing and clearing
- File documents
- Month end processing
- Receive cash and cheques and assist in relief of cashiers

Experience and Qualifications

To perform effectively in this role, the following minimum qualifications and work experience are required:

- Matric
- Certificate or diploma in accounting an advantage
- 1 - 2 years experience in similar environment

Skills and Competencies

- Able to work in a high performance, results oriented environment
- Extra work hours required at month end, financial year-end and at management discretion and over weekends.
- Successful candidate must be able to step into other roles e.g. if someone is off sick or absent from work
- Pressurized environment
- 6-day position
- Shift work applies

Working Conditions

- Ability to work in a team environment
- Extra hours when required – as per management discretion
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
- Pressurised role, deadline driven
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
