About this role

Energy Systems is seeking a Regional Segment Lead for our growth segment Data Centers in Region Northern Europe. This role will help accelerate growth in a strategically important market by connecting customer needs and industry developments with DNV’s capabilities, experience and global priorities. The segment spans the data center ecosystem, including the interaction between digital infrastructure, power systems, grid access, resilient energy supply and sustainability.

The market is moving quickly with rapid investment in and development of data centres to support the increased use of artificial intelligence. Data centres are increasingly interacting with local energy systems through sector coupling, behind-the-meter generation, flexibility and heat reuse, while many developments continue to rely on more conventional power solutions.. Customers increasingly need support to make projects safe, compliant, high-performing and bankable across the full lifecycle, including market and feasibility assessment, behind the meter energy solutions, due diligence, infrastructure, permitting, reliability and maintenance, construction support and operational readiness.

You will lead the development and execution of the regional segment growth strategy, strengthen our market positioning and support the conversion of opportunities across market areas. Working across organisational boundaries is central to the role. You will collaborate with the wider global organisation and regional key stakeholders as Market Area Managers, Key Account Managers, operational delivery leaders, technical experts and Marketing, Communication & Public Affairs.

The role is suited to a commercially oriented data centre professional who can distinguish durable opportunities from market noise, translate market insight into focused action and mobilise DNV’s capabilities across countries and teams. You will bring a strong customer focus, sound commercial judgement and a demonstrable record of creating business growth in a complex technical environment.

Your key responsibilities

- Lead the development and execution of the segment growth strategy across Region Northern Europe, aligned with global and regional priorities.
- Develop and execute the regional Data Center segment growth strategy, aligned with global and regional priorities.
- Drive market intelligence and strategic insight, identifying key trends, customer investment activity, growth opportunities and market risks across Northern Europe.
- Maintain a regional capability matrix connecting relevant competencies, experience and market needs..
- Own regional market positioning and external relations for the segment in collaboration with Market Area Managers and Marketing, Communication & Public Affairs. Identify and attend key events. Use external visibility at regional level and build a credible external profile and leadership network across the region, while expanding your leadership network across countries, service areas and business areas e.g. via LinkedIn.
- Build and strengthen relationships with priority customers and industry stakeholders, helping position DNV as a trusted advisor across the data centre ecosystem.
- Support business development and opportunity conversion, working with Market Area Managers, Key Account Managers and technical teams to shape opportunities and win strategic projects.
- Mobilise DNV's regional and global capabilities, connecting customers with the right experts, services and project experience across functions and geographies.
- Lead the regional Data Center network, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and alignment across countries, service areas and business lines.
- Strengthen DNV's market position and external profile, representing DNV at industry events, through thought leadership activities and engagement with key market influencers.
- Guide capability development and investment priorities, providing recommendations on market focus, resource allocation and future competence needs.
- Maintain and communicate DNV's Data Center value proposition, including capability overviews, reference projects and market-facing materials that demonstrate DNV's unique strengths.

Your mandate

You will own the regional segment strategy and recommend priorities for market positioning, capability development and resource focus. Delivery will be achieved through influence and a regional segment network, working with the accountable Market Area, Key Account and operational leaders.

- A relevant master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. MBA will be an advantage.
- Essential: strong understanding of the data centre market, customers, development lifecycle, power and infrastructure constraints. Advantageous: experience with AI infrastructure, permitting, sustainability, investment due diligence or the wider energy ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, customer engagement or sales in a technical or professional-services environment.
- Ability to translate market and customer insight into clear priorities, value propositions and coordinated action.
- Experience working across countries, disciplines and organisational boundaries, with the credibility to influence without relying on formal authority.
- Strong written and spoken English. Additional Nordic countries language capability is an advantage.
- Availability for regional travel as required by the role.

Collaboration and success criteria

The role works closely with Market Area Managers, Key Account Managers, Service Area Managers, Heads of Department, technical communities and Marketing, Communication & Public Affairs. Success will be demonstrated through a focused regional strategy, increased engagement with priority customers, a stronger and better-qualified opportunity pipeline, improved coordination of DNV capabilities and growth in strategically relevant data centre services.
