Job Title: Chemist Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Chemist, where you will play a pivotal role in the testing of raw materials and finished pharmaceutical and biological products. You will follow established test procedures using advanced analytical instrumentation and ensure compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Conduct testing of raw materials and finished products using analytical instrumentation.
- Utilize Computer Data Acquisition Systems (CDAS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs), Company Quality Standards, and FDA/EU Guidelines.
- Adhere to testing schedules to maintain high work volume without compromising result integrity.
- Communicate effectively with lead analysts and colleagues.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, FTIR, and Polarimeter.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Positive attitude and experience in chemistry, analytical chemistry, and laboratory settings.
- Experience in titration, pipetting, and documentation.
- Knowledge of LIMS, FDA regulations, and EU guidelines.
- Experience in liquid chromatography and analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in an analytical chemistry testing laboratory.
- Experience with wet chemistry testing and instrumentation including HPLC, GC, Polarimeter, UV/Vis, and FTIR.
- Familiarity with Word and Excel; operational experience with Water’s Empower data acquisition preferred.
- Working knowledge of the US and European pharmacopeia.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with 2+ years of analytical chemistry laboratory experience.
- Knowledge of human error awareness/prevention and strong problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
Work in a regulated lab environment, adhering to FDA/USDA/EU standards. The chemistry lab consists of around 30 people and is divided into raw material testing, biological testing, and pharmaceutical testing areas. The role includes quality control on incoming raw materials and finished products. The environment can be fast-paced and may require quick adaptability. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
