Job Title: Food Safety Specifications Coordinator Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Food Safety Specifications Coordinator located in Chicago, IL. This role involves ensuring the highest standards of food safety and compliance within our organization. You will work closely with various teams to support and enhance our food safety and quality assurance programs.
Responsibilities
- Work within SAP PLM for ingredient analysis.
- Review ingredient formulas and documentation.
- Collaborate with food safety specialists to support commercialization projects.
- Complete verification of records, ensuring all food safety information is documented and maintained per regulatory standards.
- Conduct risk assessments for new ingredients, products, and processes.
- Review policies and procedures to support corporate FSQA and compliance programs.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in food manufacturing and food safety processes.
- Experience with SAP PLM or similar database software.
- Knowledge in food chemistry and laboratory practices.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in the food industry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in regulatory, labeling, product development, or quality is beneficial.
- 2 years’ experience in Regulatory, Quality, or Research and Development, CPG industry preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to take initiative.
- Solution-oriented and proactive in seeking guidance.
Work Environment
This position offers a flexible work environment with one day on-site, typically Thursdays, and remote work for four days a week. The first shift hours can be adjusted between 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or 9am-5pm. The company culture is highly cross-functional, providing exposure to various teams and fostering a collaborative environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
