About this role

Description • Gathers all necessary medications, supplies and documentation for patient orders, ensuring accuracy and patient safety through an independent double check process. • Prioritizes, schedules and collaborates with PSRs, Pharmacists, and Nurses to coordinate on-time deliveries/pickups in a fiscally-efficient manner using local and common courier processing systems (in person, online and manual). Researches shipping costs, delivery areas, and transit times to ensure timely arrival of patient orders. Updates shipping and courier processing systems with new patient addresses and delivery instructions. • Packs patient orders in accordance with temperature-based guidelines that ensure proper storage of medications to maintain purity, quality and stability during transit. • Re-stocks all supply items and IV fluid racks throughout warehouse, identifying items by NDC or re-order number and appropriately rotating stock based on lot number and expiration date. • Assists Asset Tracker with receiving, cleaning, testing, and entering appropriate documentation of equipment processing into tracking system that is returned from patient use, per policy and procedure. • When testing equipment, ensures all equipment has appropriate Preventative Maintenance date. • Assigns appropriate equipment to patient orders in tracking system to ensure accurate tracking and maintenance records. • Maintains warehouse/facility daily – wipes down/sanitizes countertops, refrigerators, freezers, workstations, and other high traffics areas; sweeps/vacuums floors, empties trash/cardboard and removes any other debris to maintain safety. • Assists in training new warehouse employees, demonstrating competency in main job duties along with proper communication methods within the interdisciplinary teams, assessing performance and providing feedback to trainees. • Assists Purchasing department with receiving stock, verifying items against packing lists for accuracy and uses the "first in, first out" restocking method. Manages proper disposal and/or recycling of packaging materials. • Participates in monthly outdate checks and annual inventory, accurately completing paperwork and submitting to Purchasing Specialist in a timely manner. Identifies items by inventory number, packaging sizes, various formulations, etc. Verifies expiration dates and removes expired product from stock as needed. • Participates in QA/QI through team huddles, RCAs for safety events, and process improvement projects. Skills & Qualifications Active Washington State Pharmacy Assistant License or able to obtain licensure before hire - costs $70 to register with Department of Health/Secure Access Washington Ability to read and write effectively. Ability to perform simple math. Customer service skills. Knowledge of medical supplies preferred. Knowledge of body mechanics in lifting, moving boxes. Organizational skills. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
