Job Title: Electrical Engineering Technician Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Test Technician to join our Electrical Test Engineering Operations team. This role involves executing electrical and electromechanical testing on complex hardware systems, troubleshooting failures, analyzing test data, and supporting engineering efforts in product development and manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and electromechanical testing on hardware systems and assemblies.
- Utilize oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, function generators, and other bench-top test equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical failures and identify root causes.
- Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Collect, analyze, and document test data.
- Assist engineers with validation, verification, and product testing activities.
- Support troubleshooting efforts during development and production.
- Build and modify test setups as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures and results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
Essential Skills
- Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, data acquisition, and measurement sensors.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical system and component schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, function generators, and DAQ equipment for testing electronic hardware systems.
- Hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, electronics, robotics, or advanced manufacturing environments is a plus.
- Proficiency in soldering, PCB rework, and harness build and assembly.
- Experience in test fixture building.
Work Environment
This position operates within an engineering lab environment focused on hardware testing. The setting is fast-paced, requiring collaboration with a cross-functional engineering team. Activities include a combination of test execution, troubleshooting, and engineering support.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
