About this role
Turn every load, lane, and ton into a better business decision .
MATERIAL MOVEMENT & MARGIN SENIOR ANALYST
Salary Range: Starting from $85,000/year
Why This Role Matters
CR&R is building a more rigorous view of what it costs - and what it earns - to move material across our network. In this highly visible role, you'll connect operations, finance, fleet, disposal, and commodity data to show where margins are created or lost and give leadership clear recommendations to reprice, reroute, renegotiate, or exit unprofitable movements.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain load- and lane-level contribution margin models that combine tip fee revenue, commodity proceeds, disposal cost, and transportation cost into clear unit economics by load, ton, and ton-mile.
- Create Power BI dashboards and recurring analysis that track cost per ton, cost per ton-mile, revenue, lane contribution, asset utilization, and margin leakage across the business.
- Evaluate internal fleet versus subcontracted hauling economics, validate carrier invoices and rate terms, and build fact-based support for make-versus-buy decisions, negotiations, and RFPs.
- Analyze routing, payload efficiency, disposal and processing economics, commodity buy/sell spreads, and fuel recovery, then present actionable recommendations to operations and corporate leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 3 - 5 years of financial, data, logistics, or operations analysis experience, including hands-on experience building cost-to-serve, profitability, or unit-economics models; bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI/DAX skills, strong reconciliation and financial discipline, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business actions. Waste, heavy logistics, transportation, SQL, Python/R, or commodity-market experience is preferred.
Pay & Schedule
- Salary Range: Starting from $85,000/year
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., based in Stanton, California. Occasional travel to CR&R operating sites in California and Arizona; additional hours may be needed periodically.
