About this role
The Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO – Musson Group) in ensuring the financial health of the organisation. Primary objectives include ensuring Company’s Finance, Accounting and Related Areas and Functions comply with The Standards and Levels required by the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, International Financial Reporting Standards and IAS. The FM is responsible for thorough knowledge of and compliance with all legislation, rules, regulations and deadlines relating to Special Economic Zone laws, Jamaica Stock Exchange, and tax laws and regulation, and Securities laws and regulations.
FINANCE MANAGEMENT
· Direct day-to-day financial operations, including payables, receivables, cash management, and
invoicing.
· Oversee treasury, credit, and payroll management functions to ensure optimal cash flow, mitigate
financial risk, and guarantee accurate, timely employee compensation.
· Lead and develop the finance team, setting departmental goals, managing administrative staff,
and driving continuous training.
· Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports (Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash
Flows, Forecasts, and Operating Metrics) to board members, executives, and clients.
· Direct the annual budgeting process, encompassing timetable consolidation, stakeholder review,
final approval, and ongoing management of approved budgets.
· Analyze financial performance, producing monthly variance analyses of actual and YTD results
versus budgets and prior-year targets to identify improvement opportunities.
· Establish and enforce financial policies, ensuring strict compliance with internal procedures, financial
regulations, and legislation.
· Manage internal and external audit processes to guarantee the accurate and timely completion of
all required reports.
· Resolve complex financial issues, liaising directly with the Senior Management team for strategic
guidance and necessary approvals.
LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES
· Define and communicate clear departmental objectives, directing the execution of strategic plans
to support the organization's broader business strategy.
· Develop, enforce, and administer continuous training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and
service delivery standards for all roles within the department.
· Prepare and present monthly operational reports that evaluate the department's performance
against established KPIs.
· Foster a motivating, customer-centric work environment by actively coaching employees,
recognizing exceptional contributions, and promoting collaboration with other departments.
· Direct comprehensive personnel practices, guiding the team through effective onboarding,
employee relations, rewarding, and disciplining.
· Execute robust performance management, conducting timely probationary and annual
assessments, and managing Key Performance Objectives (KPOs) in alignment with HR tools.
· Champion team development by proactively identifying skill gaps, recommending courses, and
establishing targeted training schedules in partnership with the HR department.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS)
· Tertiary degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
· At least five (5) years working experience in a senior financial accounting role
· Minimum ACCA Level or equivalent
· Proven experience with Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) reporting requirements
· Working knowledge of Jamaican Special Economic Zone (SEZ) legislation and local tax laws.
· Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and accounting principles
