Project Manager, Optimus Academy

The Project Manager will lead the launch and scaling of Optimus Academy, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align training and operations strategy with business objectives, drive process improvements, and ensure effective communication of policies and procedures across the organization.

This role is for you if you are used to and enjoy solving hard problems; you have a maniacal sense of urgency and roll up your sleeves to get things done. A daily routine doesn't exist in our fast-paced environment, which is why you must adapt to new circumstances regularly.

- Own multiple concurrent Academy projects measured against the five operating KPIs — Safety, People, Accuracy, Rate, Cost — each with milestone dates, a named owner, and a weekly status against target

- Support the leadership team in bridging the gap from idea to action — take concepts and convert them into scoped plans, owners, and dates through a repeatable, systematic approach

- Drive cross-functional projects across Collection, Engineering, Recruiting, HR, EHS, Facilities, and suppliers; convert competing priorities into a single sequenced action list with owners and due dates

- Run operations end to end — from the headcount model and training plan down to floor walks, shift handoffs, and station-level problem solving the same day it surfaces

- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of operational programs, recommending and implementing improvements as needed

- Minimum 5 years in project management or manufacturing operations, OR a clear display of excellence and outstanding achievements when experience is missing

- Direct people leadership experience — hired, coached, and developed teams, including managing through leads and supervisors

- Hands-on with data — builds dashboards and reporting from raw sources (Excel, SQL, Tableau/Power BI or equivalent) and uses them to drive decisions, not just report status

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and confidentiality; can-do attitude and a heightened sense of urgency

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, from the production floor to top management; willingness to work difficult challenges regardless of discipline, including off-shift coverage during ramp

Expected Compensation $72,000 - $162,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
