Production Engineering Internship, Cell (m/f/d) - Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg

The role

You will be an integral part of the Production Engineering Team for Cell Manufacturing for the duration of your internship. We will challenge you to take on high-impact projects, expand your technical skills, and exceed your own expectations. You will be involved in projects related to process optimization that may include tool and fixture selection, line layouts, ergonomic studies, and other relevant factors. You will interface with design, test, and quality engineering to solve problems, improve manufacturability, and implement continual improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is someone who gets excited about solving a variety of problems, is competent at building things, is highly analytical, and sees the big picture needed to evolve a concept into a scalable production process.

- Interact with teams of engineers and technicians to define the root cause of issues being addressed across Cell Manufacturing processes

- Support the continuous review of production processes to ensure safety while maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

- Assist in the creation and maintenance of Manufacturing Instructions, routings, and associated process documentation

- Assist in the training of production operators as needed

- Collaborate with process sustaining technicians to support day-to-day coverage of the production line, including developing and documenting appropriate rework procedures

- Contribute to data collection, analysis, and reporting to drive evidence-based decision-making on the production floor

- Participate in cross-functional projects involving process optimization, equipment qualification, and line improvement initiatives within Cell Manufacturing

- Currently studying towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field

- Experience or coursework in manufacturing process specification and evaluation

- Ability to develop data-driven root cause analyses and propose effective solutions

- Strong manufacturing problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning complex systems quickly

- Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics

- Strong ability to work and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and peers within a manufacturing and engineering environment

- Good command of English, both verbal and written; German is a plus

- Proactive, hands-on mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
