The Opportunity

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Material Associate 1 to support EPD's warehouse operations and manufacturing success. This role plays an essential part in receiving, put-away, kitting, Kanban replenishment, inventory management, and shipping activities within our 90,000-square-foot warehouse. Supporting the production of approximately 250 UL-891 switchboards weekly, you'll help ensure materials are accurately handled, safely stored, and readily available to meet customer and production demands. What You'll Do

Material Handling & Warehouse Operations

- Perform material handling activities including receiving, put-away, kitting, replenishment, inventory transfers, and shipping support.

- Receive and inspect incoming materials and accurately scan inventory transactions into Global Shop Solutions (GSS) ERP.

- Store inventory in designated warehouse locations utilizing pallet jacks, forklifts, and material handling equipment.

- Assist with assembling kits for Engineered-to-Order (ETO) projects while maintaining high levels of accuracy.

- Support Kanban replenishment activities to ensure production lines remain stocked and operational.

- Prepare materials and finished products for shipment according to company procedures and quality standards.

Inventory Accuracy & ERP Transactions

- Utilize handheld scanners and ERP systems to maintain accurate inventory records.

- Process inventory transactions in real time during receiving, kitting, replenishment, and inventory movement activities.

- Verify material quantities and locations to support inventory accuracy goals.

- Assist with inventory counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution efforts.

- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate inventory management.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

- Adhere to all warehouse safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.

- Participate in daily safety checks and report hazards or operational concerns promptly.

- Complete all required safety training and maintain compliance with safety standards.

- Support housekeeping efforts to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse.

- Safely operate material handling equipment after appropriate training and certification.

Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

- Collaborate with Warehouse Leads, Inventory Control, Receiving, Kitting, and Shipping teams.

- Participate in cross-training activities across warehouse functions.

- Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, safety, and material flow.

- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.

What You Bring

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- 1+ year of warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.

- Experience working in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.

- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn ERP systems and handheld scanners.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.

- Ability to follow procedures and learn new tasks quickly.

- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday while performing warehouse duties.

- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to lift bulky or awkwardly shaped items weighing up to 35 pounds from floor level or above shoulder height.

- Ability to safely perform team lifts for items exceeding individual lifting limits or involving ergonomic challenges such as uneven weight distribution or repetitive motion.

- Ability to work effectively in varying environmental conditions, including heat and cold exposure.

- Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment as trained.

- Ability to work throughout a large warehouse environment and access inventory stored at various heights.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Global Shop Solutions (GSS) or other ERP systems.

- Familiarity with kitting, Kanban replenishment, inventory control, or material handling processes.

- Forklift Certification.

- OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification.

- Previous manufacturing or industrial warehouse experience.

- Experience using handheld scanners and inventory management systems.
