Infrastructure & Energy Research Specialist (Public Sector)

AlphaGov is seeking an Infrastructure & Energy Research Specialist for project-based engagements with utilities, transit agencies, ports, state energy offices, municipalities, and related public or quasi-public clients.

You will lead or support market-feasibility, demand, project-pipeline, workforce-needs, and resilience research tied to infrastructure and energy systems. Licensed engineering practice is only required when a solicitation demands it; most AlphaGov scopes are research and analysis, not stamped design.

What you'll do:

- Lead or support infrastructure/energy research studies (feasibility, demand, pipeline analysis, resilience, workforce implications)

- Synthesize technical, economic, and policy sources into decision-ready reports

- Partner with economists, GIS analysts, and sector operators when scopes require multi-discipline teams

- Support AlphaGov proposals with accurate sector framing and named-expert narratives (when permissioned)

- Flag when a solicitation requires PE/licensed professionals and help structure compliant teams

- Prefer subcontract/partner posture on mega-capital programs until AlphaGov has matching corporate past performance

Requirements

- Required:
- - 5+ years infrastructure, energy, utility, transit, or resilience research/analysis (consulting, agency, or research org)
- - At least two completed public or quasi-public sector studies you can cite (client/agency, your role, year)
- - Strong writing and ability to explain technical findings to non-engineers
- - Willingness to be named on proposals when expertise aligns and permission is granted

Nice to have:

- PE, CEM, AICP, GISP, or related credential (when licenses required)

- GIS / spatial analysis for pipeline or resilience studies

- Clean-energy, grid, water, or transit workforce studies

- Federal/state energy-office or utility commission experience
