Job Description

We are seeking an Electronics Technician to support engineering activities through hands-on PCB assembly, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electronic control systems. This role serves as a key link between engineering development, laboratory operations, and product support activities for both existing and new electronic systems. The Electronics Technician will work closely with engineers and technical teams to assemble, test, diagnose, repair, and improve electronic hardware while supporting product development and validation initiatives. Responsibilities

- Assemble and prototype printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies.
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support builds and testing activities.
- Perform testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies and circuits.
- Utilize oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other test equipment to analyze electrical performance and isolate failures.
- Support engineering investigations, product validation, and development testing.
- Document test results, troubleshooting findings, and corrective actions.
- Assist with root cause investigations and technical problem-solving activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Technical teams to support product performance and reliability objectives.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to product quality, testing efficiency, and engineering processes.
- Maintain organized laboratory, testing, and documentation practices.

Required Qualifications

- Experience assembling and testing printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies.
- Ability to translate schematics into physical builds, test setups, and troubleshooting activities.
- Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and related electronic test equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving electronic circuits and component-level diagnostics.
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices, including work around higher-voltage systems when applicable.
- Strong attention to detail in component placement, soldering quality, and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to engineering changes while maintaining adherence to established processes.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a laboratory or engineering support environment.

- Experience designing or building test fixtures and test equipment.
- Experience supporting research and development (R&D) or prototyping environments.
- Familiarity with Bills of Material (BOMs), component management, or material planning activities.
- Experience supporting root cause investigations and failure analysis activities.
- Experience working with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Development, or Engineering teams.
- Experience supporting validation or product verification activities.
- Experience working within quality-driven or regulated environments.

Work Environment

This position operates within a collaborative engineering and laboratory environment supporting product development, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities. The role involves regular interaction with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and technical stakeholders while supporting both ongoing product support efforts and new product development initiatives.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Bloomfield, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
