Order Processor
Location: Commack, NY (100% In-Office)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM (37.5 hours/week, 45-min lunch)
Position Type: Contract (Minimum 3 Months, Potential to Extend)
Pay Rate: $21.00 – $23.00 / hour (based on experience)
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Order Processor to support our order department in Commack, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, verifying, and entering sales orders into our system, performing daily end-of-day invoicing, and serving as a key liaison between customers, sales teams, and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
Order Entry & Verification: Receive and accurately enter high-volume sales orders into the system via sales portals or EDI. Verify customer details, item numbers, unit pricing, and inventory availability.
Customer & Sales Support: Provide accurate and timely order updates, shipping ETAs, and notification of any potential order delays.
Database & Invoicing Maintenance: Maintain item numbers and pricing records within the order system. Perform daily end-of-day invoicing and assist with month-end department closing activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Order Department Supervisor, Sales team, and warehouse operations to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 1–3+ years of related office experience in order processing, customer service, or sales support.
Technical Skills: Prior order entry experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with AS/400 or EDI systems is a major plus, but not required.
Detail-Oriented: Exceptional accuracy and data entry skills with strong attention to item numbers, pricing, and order specifications.
Communication & Organization: Excellent written/verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $21.00 - $23.00
