Forensic Clinical Specialist

Location: Hartford, CT Schedule: Full-Time
### Job Description
Actalent is seeking a Forensic Clinical Specialist to join a well-respected behavioral health organization serving the Hartford community. This role is ideal for a licensed clinician with experience in mental health, substance use, and forensic behavioral health services. The successful candidate will provide assessments, treatment, crisis intervention, and court-related clinical support while working with adults involved in the behavioral health and justice systems. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with a dedicated and multidisciplinary clinical team.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and establish diagnoses
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence-based practices
- Monitor treatment progress and update plans as needed
- Respond to crisis situations and coordinate appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with internal and external providers to ensure continuity of care
- Connect clients with community resources and support services
- Complete court reports and other required clinical documentation
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant client records
- Represent the organization at community meetings, court-related programs, and professional forums
- Support adults experiencing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders

Qualifications

- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Substance Abuse Counseling, or a related behavioral health field
- Active Connecticut license in good standing: LCSW
- LMSW
- LPC or LPCA
- LADC

- Minimum of 4 years of behavioral health experience
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Experience working with adults diagnosed with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and case management skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in forensic behavioral health or court-involved treatment programs
- Bilingual Spanish-English
- Knowledge of Harm Reduction and Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment models
- Experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based practices
- Familiarity with DSM diagnostic criteria and community-based behavioral health resources

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
