Pharmacy Technician (Customer Support & Prescription Fulfillment)

📍 Location: 11 Chesterfield Industrial Blvd, Chesterfield, MO 63005 🕒 Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM-6:00 PM Overtime: Not Required

Overview

Our client is seeking a customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to support prescription fulfillment operations while serving as a key point of contact for physician offices and healthcare providers. This position combines pharmacy operations, outbound calling, customer service, and data entry in a fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering accurate and timely medication services. This role is ideal for an experienced Pharmacy Technician who enjoys working with both healthcare professionals and pharmacy operations while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

Customer Service & Communication

- Make outbound calls to physician offices, clinics, and healthcare providers (approximately 80-90 calls per day)
- Handle inbound calls regarding prescription orders and medication inquiries
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure prescriptions are processed and dispensed in a timely manner
- Accurately document interactions and update patient or prescription information

Prescription Fulfillment

- Work under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist
- Accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner
- Locate and select the correct medication and strength for order fulfillment
- Count, label, package, and prepare prescription medications for Pharmacist verification
- Maintain prescription logs and required documentation

Inventory & Compliance

- Assist with purchasing, receiving, and coordinating medication inventory
- Maintain and update inventory reports
- Remove expired or discontinued medications from inventory and complete required documentation
- Calibrate pharmacy equipment and maintain calibration records
- Assist with pharmacy temperature logs, cleaning logs, and related documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, state, federal, and regulatory requirements
- Follow all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required

- Active Pharmacy Technician Certification
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls
- Accurate data entry and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Preferred

- Knowledge of medications commonly used to treat chronic and debilitating illnesses
- Experience in specialty pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, or high-volume pharmacy environments
- Experience working with prescription fulfillment and inventory management processes

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chesterfield, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
