Overview

Join an employee-owned civil contractor where you'll play a key role in projects from pursuit through construction. This position offers a unique blend of estimating and project support responsibilities, allowing you to contribute throughout the entire project lifecycle. You'll work closely with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, owners, and engineers to develop competitive bids, manage project costs, and help ensure successful project execution on a variety of heavy civil and site development projects.

What You'll Do

- Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to understand project scope and requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate project cost estimates.
- Solicit, evaluate, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Assist with bid preparation, proposal development, and preconstruction planning.
- Support project turnover from estimating to operations and field teams.
- Track project costs, quantities, schedules, and production throughout construction.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, owners, engineers, and contractors.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering solutions.
- Help drive projects to successful completion through proactive communication and problem-solving.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in civil construction, estimating, project engineering, or project management.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience with heavy civil construction, including earthwork, grading, utilities, concrete, or site development projects.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Bluebeam and HeavyBid is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomsdale, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $50.48/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
