Project Manager

Job Title: Project Manager Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our PMO Project Delivery team. The successful candidate will support interdisciplinary teams in coordinating planning, production, engineering, commissioning, and subcontract work scopes to achieve project milestones. This role requires a proactive individual who is comfortable engaging with various internal stakeholders and has a strong foundation in project management principles, including Earned Value Management (EVM) and scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Support ODM PM and DPMs in the day-to-day coordination of interdisciplinary teams.
- Oversee specific projects such as managing repair projects, understanding schedules, delivery impacts, and associated risks.
- Develop mitigation strategies and communicate issues clearly, escalating when necessary.
- Apply project management principles to ensure delivery within cost and time constraints.
- Prepare and present updates and reports with clarity and confidence.
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of experience in a Project Management or Operational environment utilizing EVM, Costing, Definition and Planning, Performance & Control.
- Post-secondary education with a preferred background in structural or maintenance, or a red-seal trade qualification.
- PMP Certification or equivalent, or actively working towards this certification within eighteen months of attaining the role.
- Strong Excel skills and experience utilizing Primavera P6 or equivalent.
- Eligible for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Submarine experience, or experience in marine, construction operations, oil and gas, or equipment maintenance.
- Experience managing complex government or Department of National Defense programs.
- Structural background, such as Naval Architecture or structural trade.
Work Environment
This role offers a long-term contract opportunity within a government-funded program in the defense sector, providing security and the chance to learn new skills in a dynamic environment. The work environment is primarily on-site with occasional visits to the yard for status updates. There is a possibility for a hybrid work option, but candidates must be situated in Victoria. Standard work hours are 37.5 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime if desired. The work environment is independent, with a 70/30 split between independent work and team collaboration.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $48.07/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Esquimalt,BC.
