Job Title: Customer Service Representative Job Description
The Customer Service Representative acts as the primary liaison between customers and site operational teams, ensuring a strong balance between customer requirements and operational needs. This role serves as the main point of contact for customers, champions customer satisfaction, and supports the development and implementation of processes that meet customer goals. The position involves coordinating customer orders and transportation, monitoring key performance indicators, and working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver consistent, accurate, and timely service.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main interface between customers and site operational management, maintaining strong and positive relationships.
- Champion and monitor customer satisfaction by proactively addressing issues and ensuring a high level of service.
- Ensure customer contract requirements are accurately administered and followed as applicable.
- Fulfill customer initiatives, special processes, and data requests consistently, on time, and without negatively impacting daily work processes.
- Act as a key contact with customer groups, supporting the development and deployment of new or revised processes to meet customer goals.
- Ensure client and internal company initiatives are properly deployed and that all related requirements are fulfilled as requested.
- Coordinate transportation and delivery of customer orders as required, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Report on key support areas of account performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and implement corrective action plans as necessary to address performance gaps or issues.
- Coordinate with operational managers to provide value-added services required by the customer.
- Report department goals and metrics, and assist with setting and supporting individual goals to align with company, site, and customer objectives.
- Participate in on-site team meetings and account, site, or customer committee meetings to support collaboration and alignment.
- Ensure all records and reports related to client activity are prepared accurately, submitted on time, and effectively maintained.
- Identify potential discrepancies in inventory and work to resolve them promptly.
- Coordinate and perform physical inventories in accordance with client requirements, and investigate any inventory variances.
- Track order and receiving accuracy on a daily basis to support operational and customer requirements.
- Conduct random audits of weekly inbound shipments to ensure descriptions, quantities, and locations match warehouse management system (WMS) records.
- Collaborate with multiple internal departments such as sales, warehouse staff, drivers, and leadership to support customer needs and smooth operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support customer service, logistics, and operational objectives.
Essential Skills
- 12 years of customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written communication skills for professional email correspondence with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong verbal communication skills for effective coordination, including use of internal communication tools such as walkie-talkies.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment.
- Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels within the organization in support of customer relationships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a third-party logistics environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of transportation systems (for example, TruckMate or similar platforms).
- Familiarity with yard management systems (such as Yard View or similar).
- Experience within a logistics environment, including shipping and receiving of materials, particularly in a blue-collar or warehouse setting.
- Post-secondary education in business, supply chain, logistics, or a related field.
- Previous experience using warehouse management software, such as AS2016 or comparable systems.
- Experience working with multiple departments, including sales, warehouse staff, drivers, and leadership teams.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to coordinate with diverse teams.
- Motivation to grow into roles handling larger client accounts or moving into logistics-focused leadership positions.
Work Environment
The role is based in a fast-paced logistics and warehousing environment that supports shipping, receiving, and transportation operations. The position operates on shift schedules, including an afternoon to late-evening shift from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Team members collaborate closely with warehouse staff, drivers, and office personnel, using tools such as walkie-talkies, warehouse management systems, transportation systems, and yard management systems to coordinate daily activities. The environment emphasizes teamwork, celebrates achievements, and supports professional growth, including opportunities to work with large client accounts and advance into logistics leadership roles. The setting is a blue-collar, operational facility where safety is a priority, and appropriate safety footwear, such as steel-toe shoes, is required on the floor.

This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
