Laboratory Assistant - Oakthorpe Dairy

Arla Foods Oakthorpe currently have a vacancy for a proficient and proactive Laboratory Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis. As a Laboratory Assistant, the successful candidate will analyse and evaluate products and materials to check and ensure that quality and approved analysis standards are met. They will independently follow established processes providing day-to-day support necessary to ensure delivery of operational targets.

Duties will also include

- Conducting tests to analyse products and materials.
- Collecting samples across the site/registers them and sending them out for analysis.
- Interpreting results of analyses and escalating non-conformance issues as required.
- Creating action plans for non-conformances and follows it up according to procedures.
- Communicating and reporting results to the relevant department.
- Ensuring that instrumentation is functioning and calibrated and that verified methods are used
- Ensuring laboratory stock is always available.

What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role

To be successful in the role you will need ambition & drive as well as a strong sense of professional integrity and a passion for producing high quality work. We are looking for somebody with a high attention to detail to ensure all recording is 100% accurate. You must have the ability to communicate effectively with external and internal teams and be a Solid team player who is happy to contribute to the common success of the business.

If you have manufacturing/ food manufacturing experience, that’s great. If not, we can coach you. Having good or advanced Microsoft Office experience and previous experience of data analysis would be advantageous but not essential
