Roles & Responsibilities

Production Planning & BU Coordination

- Coordinate closely with Business Unit (BU), Supply Chain, and Central Planning teams to develop and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual production plans for specialty chemical products.
- Ensure alignment of third-party manufacturing capacities with business demand forecasts and customer requirements.
- Monitor production plan adherence and proactively address capacity constraints, raw material shortages, and operational bottlenecks.
- Drive inventory optimization through effective production scheduling and coordination with planning teams.

Third-Party Manufacturing Management

- Manage end-to-end manufacturing operations at third-party facilities to ensure achievement of production, quality, cost, delivery, and safety objectives.
- Establish performance KPIs for third-party manufacturers and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with approved manufacturing processes, batch records, change management procedures, and customer-specific requirements.

Safety, Health & Compliance (Critical Focus Area)

- Act as the primary custodian for safety, health, environment, and regulatory compliance across all third-party manufacturing locations.
- Drive implementation of company EHS standards, process safety requirements, and statutory compliance at contract manufacturing sites.
- Conduct periodic safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Ensure closure of audit observations, near-miss reports, safety action items, and regulatory non-conformities within agreed timelines.
- Promote a strong safety culture through regular engagement, training, awareness programs, and leadership interactions with third-party partners.
- Monitor compliance with all applicable environmental, legal, and industry regulations related to specialty chemical manufacturing.

Audit & Quality Systems

- Prepare and execute an annual audit calendar covering safety, quality, compliance, and operational excellence audits for all third-party manufacturing locations.
- Plan and coordinate quarterly audits at third-party manufacturing sites jointly with QA, EHS, and cross-functional teams.
- Track audit findings, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and ensure timely closure of all observations.
- Support customer audits, regulatory inspections, and certification audits at third-party facilities.

Cross Functional Coordination

- Collaborate with QA, Procurement, R&D, Regulatory, Supply Chain, EHS, and Commercial teams for smooth manufacturing execution.
- Coordinate new product commercialization, technology transfer, process improvements, and scale-up activities at third-party locations.
- Ensure timely communication of production status, risks, and mitigation plans to BU and senior management.

Continuous Improvement & Cost Management

- Identify opportunities for productivity improvement, yield enhancement, waste reduction, and manufacturing cost optimization at third-party sites.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives and benchmark best manufacturing practices across partner facilities.
- Support profitability improvement by improving capacity utilization and manufacturing efficiency.
- Multipurpose batch plant specialty chemicals handling experience.
- Manage Production activities of NPD (Production Planning / RM & Packing Material Planning and Inventory Control)
- Daily Stock Monitoring and Yield Monitoring
- Coordination with Logistics for Dispatch Management of NP
- Optimum use of Plant Capacity and achieve more than 90% OEE, with reduction and standardization of Batch Cycle Time,
- Handling of contract manufacturer activity and auditing their facility
- Monitoring Production & Manufacturing cost and take initiative / actions to reduce costs.
- Manpower allocation and effective use of all available resources
- Ensuring adherence and compliance to Integrated Management System, and coordinate for necessary training from time to time for the team members.
- Assisting in Internal Audits, Internal & External Issue Identification and Risk Assessment.
- Set functional objectives with respect to Quality, Safety, Environment and in line with management objectives and design action plant to achieve the same in time bound manner.
- Trouble shooting of process deviation / quality deviations on day-to-day issues.
- Focus on elimination, minimization of Internal Quality Deviations Customer Complaints
- Carry out detailed and systematic Root Cause Analysis, propose and implementation of CAPA with review at definite intervals.
- Coordinate with Engg Team for smooth execution of preventive maintenance schedules/shutdown maintenance to ensure trouble-free and seamless plant operations.
- Impart / Arrange training for Scale up of NPD production at MPBP / Wax Ester Plants in coordination with R&D Team
- Monthly Review of Production and Dispatch of NPD Products, Capacity utilization of various machines, Productivity & Yield, Utilities Services, Quality Issues, and Customer Complaints trends, Waste generation and Minimization, Safety Performance, etc.
- Coordinating with different departments such as Purchase, Engineering Services and Quality to ensure as per plan delivery
