Job Title: Construction Project Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Project Engineer to join our team in Phoenix. This role is pivotal in supporting the successful execution and delivery of complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and ready to contribute to large-scale mission-critical data center projects.
Responsibilities
- Support Construction Managers with day-to-day project execution activities.
- Coordinate with General Contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Track action items and ensure timely follow-up and closure.
- Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting documentation.
- Monitor construction progress against project milestones.
- Assist with schedule reviews and identify potential risks or delays.
- Support development and tracking of recovery plans.
- Maintain project dashboards and status reports.
- Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, NCRs, punch lists, turnover documents, and meeting minutes.
- Track drawing revisions and design updates.
- Maintain accurate project records and reporting.
- Assist with TIA, COR, change order, and design change tracking.
- Monitor approval workflows and document status.
- Support impact assessments related to schedule and scope changes.
- Perform routine field walks with project teams.
- Support quality inspections and punch list management.
- Track deficiencies and corrective actions through closure.
- Assist in monitoring contractor compliance with project requirements.
- Track commissioning readiness activities.
- Coordinate turnover documentation requirements.
- Support system testing, startup activities, and operational handover milestones.
- Assist with closure of turnover-critical issues.
- Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports.
- Maintain issue logs, risk registers, and action item trackers.
- Communicate project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- 3+ years of construction project engineering, field engineering, project coordination, or project management experience.
- Experience supporting commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects.
- Understanding of construction documents, specifications, RFI processes, and submittals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and project management tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting data center or mission-critical facility construction.
- Familiarity with MEP systems, commissioning, and turnover processes.
- Experience working with General Contractors or Owner's Representative teams.
- Knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, BIM 360, or similar construction management platforms.
Work Environment
The role requires a 40-hour work week in Phoenix, utilizing equipment such as a monitor, keyboard, headset, mouse, and personal protective gear including a Class 2 Safety Helmet, Class 2 or higher vest, cut and impact-resistant gloves, ANSI Z87.1 or higher safety glasses or visor, and composite toe work boots. The work environment involves active construction sites, necessitating compliance with safety standards and readiness to support field execution activities.

This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
