System Engineer Intern, Summer 2027

Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a motivated and detail ‑ oriented Systems Engineering Intern to join our 2027 Summer Internship Program. In this role, you will work alongside experienced systems engineers performing system ‑ level verification for a high ‑ visibility U.S. Navy weapon system program. Your work will directly support mission success for our partners and contribute to the defense of our nation.

As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will gain experience in:

- Conducting system verification activities using requirements, verification methods, and compliance documentation
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the Requirements Verification and Traceability Matrix (RVTM)
- Performing data analysis and collaborating with engineering teams to support requirement verification and validation
- Preparing technical documentation, presentations, data packages, and white papers

In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op
Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our
business leaders and the other students in the program. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Must be currently enrolled in Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline and complete your junior year prior to Summer 2027
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- GPA of 3.0 or higher highly preferred

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $49592 - $68993

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
