About the Role

The Manager, Customer War Room & Material Shortage Crisis Management will act as an individual contributor and Project Leader within HARMAN's Global Supply organization , created to own and lead customer war rooms for critical material shortage situations and ensure structured crisis management across affected commodities, suppliers, plants, programs, and customers.

The role provides clear ownership for customer-facing crisis leadership by setting up, leading, and driving customer war rooms from issue intake through mitigation execution, decision alignment, escalation, and customer communication. The role sets direction, enables critical decision-making across parallel workstreams, and orchestrates cross-functional teams spanning Category Management, Supply Chain Planning, Critical Parts Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, Sales, Program Management, and Customer Communication.

This role is designed to provide strong operational leadership during customer-impacting shortage situations, ensuring that mitigation actions, risk transparency, and decision needs are managed consistently and with clear ownership across internal stakeholders and customer interfaces.

In times of market stability, the role will lead and support critical supply chain projects with high business impact, ensuring effective execution and sustainable results.

This role reports into the Global Supply Chain Management Finished good planning lead and requires seniority, robustness, strong cross-functional leadership, and the credibility to operate and escalate at senior executive level.

What You Will Do

- Supports Finished Goods Planning activities to ensure material availability and customer demand fulfillment.
- Identifies and analyzes supply chain risks related to material shortages, supplier constraints, and production interruptions.
- Coordinates cross-functional actions required to mitigate supply risks and ensure continuity of supply.
- Organizes and facilitates operational review meetings, including War Room and Delivery Pulse discussions.
- Tracks escalation actions and monitors closure status of agreed mitigation plans.
- Maintains regular reporting on supply risks, shortages, action plans, and recovery progress.
- Consolidates information from multiple stakeholders and provides timely updates to management teams.
- Supports SIOP and operational planning processes through supply chain analysis and risk assessment.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives focused on supply visibility, escalation management, and planning effectiveness.
- Utilizes SAP, IBP, and analytical tools to monitor KPIs and support data-driven decision-making.

What You Need

- Bachelor/Master’s in supply chain related fields and Certifications from accredited bodies such as ASCM preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the field of Supply chain & operations planning
- Expert knowledge of automotive industry including supply chain dynamics with at least 3+ years automotive experience
- Experience in supply planning, material planning, demand planning, production planning, or related roles
- Proficiency in using supply chain planning software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and data analytics tools.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize supply planning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Problem-solving orientation with a proactive approach to addressing supply chain challenges.
- Adaptable and resilient, able to navigate changing business requirements and supply chain dynamics.
- Experience in leading or coordinating cross-functional supply shortage resolution meetings involving Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics and Customer teams.
- Proven experience in managing material shortages, supply disruptions and escalation processes in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Experience in driving action tracking, risk mitigation plans and supply recovery activities.
- Experience working in a regional or global supply planning organization with multiple plants and customer locations.
