The Global Trade team supports Syensqo businesses in navigating an increasingly complex and evolving international trade environment, enabling compliant and efficient cross-border operations. The team provides expertise and solutions across key Global Trade domains, including Customs Classification, Non-Preferential Country of Origin, Preferential Origin and Customs Valuation , while assessing the impact of evolving trade regulations, tariffs and trade agreements on Syensqo’s operations.

Working closely with Global Business Units (GBUs), Product Stewardship and local experts , the team promotes a consistent and harmonized approach to Global Trade requirements worldwide.

We are looking for:

We are seeking a motivated Global Trade Domains Trainee to join our team for a 12-month immersive development program .

You will gain hands-on experience across key Global Trade domains, learn from experienced professionals and progressively build your technical expertise and business understanding while contributing to real Global Trade challenges.

We will count on you to:

- Develop knowledge across key Global Trade domains and progressively apply it to real business cases and operational activities.

- Support Customs Classification activities by gathering and analyzing relevant product and technical information.

- Support Non-Preferential Country of Origin assessments and related documentation.

- Support Preferential Origin activities, including Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), rules of origin and supporting documentation.

- Support Customs Valuation activities and the analysis of relevant business scenarios.

- Monitor developments in the global trade landscape, including tariffs, trade measures and FTAs, and support the analysis of their potential impact on Syensqo.

- Manage and maintain Global Trade data and supporting documentation in relevant systems.

- Collaborate with Global Business Units, Product Stewardship and local experts to understand business needs and contribute to practical solutions.

- Contribute to Global Trade guidelines, procedures and controls, as well as continuous improvement, standardization, automation and digitalization initiatives.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, International Trade, Supply Chain or a related field.

- Strong interest in developing expertise in Customs and Global Trade; previous professional experience in the field is not required.

- Strong analytical mindset, organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability and motivation to learn technical and regulatory topics.

- Strong collaboration and communication skills in a cross-functional, global environment.

- Good command of English; additional languages are an asset.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel; knowledge of SAP is an asset.

- Proactive and open-minded, with a strong willingness to learn and develop.

What we offer:

- The Portuguese annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: €11,280.00 for applicants who have completed or are completing a Bachelor's degree and €12,480.00 for applicants who have completed or are completing a Master's degree.
