POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief seeks a person passionate about working with immigrant youth, helping to provide a safe environment to learn, play games and develop connections with other youth, staff and volunteers.
The Youth Clubs Associate role is Part-Time Limited Term to start as soon as possible and work through May 31, 2027.
The 20 hours/week schedule will be Monday/Wednesday 12-5, Tuesday/Thursday 2:30-5, and Friday 8-1.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and implementation of after school clubs promoting academic and social emotional skill advancement. After school club coordination includes safety protocol; family, school, and volunteer communication; organizing club locations and times
- Organize transportation to/from club sessions for eligible students: drive students in 15 passenger vans and coordinate/supervise intern drivers
- Work closely with the Children & Youth team to identify newly arrived students and facilitate their club enrollment and participation
- Coordinate and provide leadership for volunteers by conducting training, leading pre-club meetings, directing during club, communicating regularly, and offering ongoing support
- Manage volunteers, interns, and/or work-study students
- Maintain data of client and volunteer records using databases; ensure that student attendance is taken each week and reported accurately; formalize structural procedures according to program growth and development
- Prepare and submit monthly program reports and other reports, as requested
- Communicate with parents and students by doing home visits and/or making phone calls to update parents about upcoming activities and student progress
- Participating in weekly program meetings
- Attendance at required World Relief Chicagoland meetings
- Other duties as assigned

- Mature and personal Christian faith

- Valid drivers license, access to reliable vehicle and ability to pass MVR standards
- High school diploma required.
- Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced work environment
- Good oral and written communication or organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively in cross-cultural settings
- Good time management and multi-tasking skills
- Social-Emotional Skill Development experience
- Demonstrates confidentiality and professionalism
- Experience working with children and youth
- Afternoon hours availability
- Ability to remain physically active for long periods of time.
- Ability to drive a 15-passenger
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Fluency in Arabic, Dari, Swahili, or Spanish, preferred.
