Job Title: Medical Assistant Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced medical assistant for a pediatric clinic. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in pediatrics due to the training capacity involved in this role.
Responsibilities
- Take and record patients' vital signs.
- Conduct follow-up calls with patients' parents or guardians.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians.
- Assist healthcare providers with room setup and prepare for patient examinations.
- Clean examination rooms as needed to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Perform point-of-care testing accurately.
- Conduct phlebotomy procedures.
- Handle medication prior authorizations efficiently.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in medical assisting.
- Experience in phlebotomy.
- Possession of a valid RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) or CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- A GED or high school diploma is required prior to onboarding.
Work Environment
This position requires working in a pediatric clinic environment, floating between two clinics and consistently supporting the same provider. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a one-hour lunch break. The clinic offers a laid-back atmosphere with kind and supportive providers who adhere to a structured schedule. Employees are eligible for benefits starting on day one, or after 30 days depending on employment status, and can accrue and use PTO and sick time immediately.

This is a Contract position based out of Knoxville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
