About this role
- Turn data into insight, insight into action, and build your career in Group Audit.
- Work across mortgages, credit cards, business lending and broader consumer and business banking
- Bring your analytics expertise and develop your expertise across audit and risk with an experienced Group Audit team
- Full time, Perm Opportunity, Hybrid working arrangement: 3 days in office & 2 remotely.
This is an opportunity for an Audit Manager who enjoys getting hands-on with data and wants to use analytics to uncover insights, challenge how controls are operating and contribute to meaningful audit outcomes. You'll combine analytics, professional judgement and stakeholder engagement to deliver meaningful audit outcomes that help strengthen risk management and control effectiveness across the Consumer, Business & Wealth (CBW) portfolios.
Joining our Group Audit CBW & Response team, you’ll work across a diverse range of audits covering areas such as mortgages, business lending and various emerging risk topics. What makes this opportunity particularly interesting is the role data plays in how the team works. Rather than relying solely on traditional sample-based testing, you’ll use analytics to interrogate large data populations, identify trends and assess how effectively controls are operating.
About the role.
- Working alongside experienced audit leaders, you’ll contribute to the delivery of risk-based audits across the Consumer, Business & Wealth and Response portfolio while continuing to build your technical, audit and industry expertise.
- Deliver and support risk-based audits across all stages of the audit lifecycle, including planning, risk assessment, scoping, testing, fieldwork, issue identification and reporting.
- Use data analytics to design and execute audit testing, interrogating large data populations to assess controls and identify insights.
- Work hands-on with analytical tools such as Alteryx, SAS or SQL , translating audit and control objectives into practical data analysis.
- Build trusted relationships across the business, collaborating with risk specialists, audit colleagues and key stakeholders to deliver insight-led outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies, analytics capabilities and risk assurance practices.
- Develop your knowledge of consumer and business banking, risk and audit methodology, building towards the opportunity to lead audits end-to-end.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who can bring together analytical capability, curiosity and a strong understanding of risk or audit.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience within audit and/or risk, with the ability to understand processes, risks and controls and apply sound judgement.
- Strong, hands-on data analytics capability, using tools such as Alteryx, SAS, SQL, Tableau or Power BI.
- The ability to translate audit, risk or control objectives into practical analytical approaches and communicate findings in a clear and compelling way.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
- An interest in continuing to develop your knowledge across audit, consumer and business banking and emerging risks.
Experience within financial services or consumer/business banking would be valuable, but deep product knowledge isn’t essential. We’re particularly interested in the analytical capability you can bring and your appetite to learn the rest.
You don’t need to arrive knowing every consumer or business banking product or methodology. We can help you build that knowledge. What’s important is that you’re genuinely comfortable working with data, understand how analytics can answer an audit or control-testing question, and are keen to broaden your capability across audit, risk and stakeholder engagement.
