About this role

On behalf of The Home Office, we are looking for a Contract Manager (Inside IR35) for an initial 6 month contract based hybrid in London. Office attendance is 3 days a week. The role is also open to other locations in the UK.

Role Profile:

To support the Police and Public Protection Technology Team (PPPT) in managing the Strategic Delivery Partner (SDP) contract, a critical commercial arrangement supporting technology delivery across the department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a contract management professional with strong commercial expertise to join a high-profile programme and support the successful management and transition of complex , high-value contracts.

As a Contract Manager , your main responsibilities will be to:

PLEASE NOTE: Active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

- Manage the day-to-day commercial and contractual activities relating to the Strategic Delivery Partner (SDP) contract.
- Review and challenge Statements of Work (SoWs), cost models, rate cards and commercial proposals from suppliers.
- Lead contract change control activities, ensuring changes are properly governed and documented.
- Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve value for money and minimise risk.
- Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations, service levels and deliverables.
- Produce and analyse Management Information (MI) reports to support contract governance and decision -making.
- Build effective relationships with internal customers, stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Support commercial governance meetings and provide contractual advice to stakeholders.
- Assist with contract exit and transition planning activities, ensuring a smooth transition of services.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, issues and opportunities throughout the contract lifecycle.

Essential:

- Proven experience managing complex , high-value contracts across the full contract lifecycle.
- Strong commercial and public sector procurement knowledge, including CCS frameworks.
- Excellent supplier, customer and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong contract change control and governance experience.
- Experience supporting contract exit, transition and service transfer activities.
- Good understanding of contract law, commercial risk and governance.
- Active SC Clearance is essential.

Desirable:

- Experience within Central Government or the wider Public Sector.
- Experience working with multiple suppliers and delivery partners.
- Knowledge of technology, discovery and professional services contracts.
