JOB DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking a Project Manager to help lead and grow our Architecture and Building Engineering practice in Dallas/Fort Worth and the Southwest region , with a strategic focus on the Industrial and Defense OEM and Data Center markets, while also supporting established markets such as Federal, Aviation, and Transit in partnership with our multidisciplinary leadership team.

This is a leadership opportunity for a credentialed professional who excels at managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects, guiding high-performing teams, and building strong client relationships. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering quality projects, advancing business development efforts, and strengthening Michael Baker’s presence across targeted growth markets.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering projects from pursuit through delivery.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and risk.
- Develop project work plans and coordinate resources across geographically dispersed teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Support strategic growth in the Industrial and Defense OEM market, while also contributing to opportunities in Federal, Aviation, Transit, and related sectors.
- Evaluate opportunities, support capture and pursuit efforts, and contribute to proposal development.
- Collaborate with operations, market leaders, and technical teams to align project execution with business goals.
- Represent Michael Baker at client meetings, industry events, and market-facing activities.
- Promote a strong seller-doer culture through project leadership and business development engagement.
- Contribute innovative design solutions that support evolving technologies and future development through fast-paced, compressed schedules aligned with client requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Professional licensure required: Registered Architect (RA/AIA), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience managing multi-disciplinary architecture/building engineering projects and teams.
- Specific experience related to Industrial and Defense OEM and Data Center clients and projects preferred.
- Demonstrated success in project management, team leadership, and client engagement.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing project performance.
- Experience with Design/Build or other alternative delivery methods preferred.
- Business development experience, including client development and proposal support, preferred.
- Familiarity with BIM, digital delivery, and emerging AI-enabled design tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Bluebeam.

Additional Requirements

- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
- Ability to work in-person approximately two (2) days per week in either the Dallas or Fort Worth offices.
- Travel of approximately 25% is expected based on project and program needs.
- PMP and/or LEED AP credentials are preferred.

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position $120,000- $180,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
