About this role

WHAT WE'RE SEEKING

The Senior Accountant works with our accounting team to produce accurate and timely financial statements for internal and external use, including general ledger accounting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and a range of corporate and site accounting processes. This role works closely with the team during monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting periods, including the external audit, researches technical accounting issues, and provides guidance to accounting on how to record transactions appropriately. The Senior Accountant also partners with corporate and venue-level associates and managers to communicate financial information and contributes to special projects across accounting and finance. We are looking for someone experienced enough to work with fairly minimal oversight and who collaborates well across teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Key Responsibilities

- Provide accounting support for month-end close activities, including prepaids, accruals, analysis, and response to inquiries

- Prepare monthly journal entries to record transactions in the appropriate accounting periods and identify accruals needed for various expense accounts

- Review contracts and apply ASC 842 guidance to properly account for new installations and renewals

- Work closely with UK and Sweden associates related to Toptracer Range revenue and cost recording, and provide updates to management on monthly results

- Support quarterly and annual audits, including schedule preparation and fulfilling sample selection requests

- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations each period/quarter as assigned and scheduled

- Serve as the accounting contact for venue operations for a set number of venues

- Monitor and correct intercompany discrepancies throughout the period

- Research and analyze fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts

- Recommend changes in accounting systems and procedures, and develop, enhance, and implement accounting and finance procedures and documentation of data flow

- CORE COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSTechnical Accounting & Compliance

Applies GAAP and technical accounting standards to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with company policy.

- Researches and analyzes technical accounting issues and provides guidance to accounting on how to record transactions appropriately.

- Reviews contracts and applies ASC 842 guidance to properly account for new installations and renewals.

- Maintains an in-depth understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply technical accounting issues to recording and reporting financial results.

- Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

Delivers accurate, timely financial statements through disciplined close processes and general ledger accounting.

- Provides accounting support for month-end close activities, including prepaids, accruals, analysis, and response to inquiries.

- Prepares monthly journal entries to record transactions in appropriate accounting periods and identifies accruals needed for various expense accounts.

- Prepares and reviews balance sheet account reconciliations each period/quarter as assigned and scheduled.

- Audit & Controls Support

Supports the integrity of financial data through audit readiness and ongoing control improvements.

- Supports quarterly and annual audits, including schedule preparation and fulfilling sample selection requests.

- Assists management with implementation of process and control improvements, and develops system controls to ensure data integrity.

- Participates in system implementation of new or revised systems.

- Cross-Functional Partnership Partners across the business and internationally to keep accounting aligned with operations and management needs. Works closely with UK and Sweden associates related to Toptracer Range revenue and cost recording, and provides updates to management on monthly results.

- Serves as the accounting contact for venue operations support for a set number of venues.

- Works closely with management to communicate accounting interpretations, displaying the ability to connect and build relationships with colleagues.

- Analysis & Process Improvement Brings analytical rigor to financial results and drives ongoing improvements to accounting systems and processes. Researches and analyzes fluctuations between current financial results compared to prior year, prior month, and budgeted amounts.

- Monitors and corrects intercompany discrepancies throughout the period.

- Recommends changes in accounting systems and procedures and develops, enhances, and implements accounting and finance procedures and documentation of data flow.

- QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

- 2+ years of experience with demonstrated increasing responsibilities and exposure to technical accounting issues

- In-depth understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply technical accounting issues to recording and reporting financial results

- An advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word and Excel, is required

- Ability to work with various and multiple software and reporting systems; knowledge of SAP a plus

- In-depth knowledge of financial data requirements in order to implement new programs and maintain the proper levels of controls

- Strong organizational and communication skills essential to success

- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous projects, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities

- Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and external auditors

- Bonus Qualifications CPA a plus

- Auditing experience at a public accounting firm is a plus

- Experience working in a publicly traded company is a plus

- Experience in the Restaurant or Retail industries is preferred
