About this role

Job Title: Engineering Technician Job Description The Engineering Technician supports an engineering laboratory by assembling, fabricating, testing, and troubleshooting prototype products, including equipment such as vacuums for thermal test stations. This is a hands-on role that works closely with the engineering team to execute a variety of thermal, power, flow, and structural test procedures on precision electro-mechanical prototypes. The position offers strong growth potential within the technician career ladder and provides exposure to a diverse product portfolio in defense, industrial, aerospace, and advanced technology applications. Responsibilities

- Assemble and fabricate prototype electro-mechanical products and test fixtures for the engineering team, including components such as vacuums for thermal test stations.
- Read and interpret blueprints and assembly prints to accurately build and modify prototype parts and systems.
- Perform hands-on testing of prototypes using established procedures for thermal, power, air flow, liquid flow, and structural performance.
- Troubleshoot prototype products and test setups to identify issues, propose solutions, and support design improvements.
- Use hand tools and precision measurement tools to build, align, and verify components and assemblies to tight tolerances.
- Conduct wiring, soldering, and basic machining tasks as needed to support prototype fabrication and test setups.
- Operate and interpret readings from test equipment such as oscilloscopes and other laboratory instruments.
- Document test activities, observations, and results clearly and accurately to support engineering analysis.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and fellow technicians in a laboratory environment, contributing ideas and feedback to improve designs and processes.
- Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to wear many hats by supporting a variety of tasks across assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and measurement verification.
- Participate in measurement verification activities, including reading tape measures, scales, calipers, micrometers, indicators, protractors, and inclinometers to ensure accurate dimensions and angles.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient engineering laboratory workspace and care for tools, equipment, and test assets.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in test methods, prototype build processes, and laboratory practices as experience grows.
- Develop skills and assume increasing responsibilities over time, progressing through technician levels based on performance and expertise.
