The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Engineering Manager leads a team responsible for the integration, verification, and validation of radar and camera based safety systems on medium and heavy duty vehicles. This role sets the technical and organizational direction for ADAS product validation, ensuring robust test strategies, disciplined execution, timely issue resolution, and clear reporting that meets technical requirements and customer expectations.
The manager partners across vehicle/systems engineering, TT/S engineering, suppliers, global teams, vehicle operations, and product strategy to deliver safe, high-quality systems. The role develops people and technical capability, aligns priorities and resources, and fosters a collaborative culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.

What You Drive at DTNA

·       Lead, coach, and develop the ADAS engineering team, establishing clear objectives, priorities, technical ownership, and validation plans.

·       Define and execute the validation strategy for radar and camera based driver assistance and active safety systems across vehicle programs.

·       Oversee design verification planning and reporting, including objectives, applicable standards, test cases, procedures, pass/fail criteria, execution, analysis, and final recommendations.

·       Ensure effective vehicle integration and feature-level validation through workshop, over the road, proving-ground, and major test-event activities.

·       Lead test planning, budgets, schedules, staffing, test reporting, and resource allocation for the team

·       Communicate scope, dependencies, risks, and recovery plans to leadership

·       Support timely investigation and resolution of technical, field and customer issues through structured root-cause analysis and cross-functional coordination.

·       Establish key performance indicators and reporting that improve visibility to product maturity, test coverage, issue closure, delivery timing, and team effectiveness.

·       Advance validation methods, automation, data analysis, tools, processes, and competitive benchmarking to improve product quality and organizational efficiency.

·       Present technical conclusions, recommendations, program status, and risks clearly to engineering teams and senior leadership.

Knowledge You Should Bring

·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field and   7+ years of experience in automotive design, validation or systems engineering.

·       Experience leading engineers or project teams, including work prioritization, coaching, performance enablement, and cross-functional delivery.

·       Strong technical understanding of vehicle and systems integration

·       Experience leading complex technical projects, managing schedules and risks, and delivering results across multiple stakeholders.

·       Demonstrated ability to investigate complex technical problems, determine root cause, and drive issues to closure.

·       Strong collaboration, communication, presentation, organization, and decision-making skills.

·       Ability to travel to support vehicle test events, workshops, and other engineering activities

·       Ability to lead engineering teams in Portland and Madras

·       Travel expectation: 1 0-20% anticipated travel to Madras, or HDPG

·       An attached resume is required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

·       Master's degree in engineering, engineering management, or a related technical field.

·       Experience with advanced driver assistance systems, active safety, or related vehicle electronic systems

·       Demonstrated experience developing and executing whole-vehicle or system-level verification and validation plans, test cases, pass/fail criteria, data analysis, and formal technical reports.

·       Experience resolving field or customer concerns and using lessons learned to improve future verification coverage.

·       Experience developing operational dashboards, performance indicators, and data-driven reporting for engineering programs.

·       Experience working with global engineering organizations, suppliers, and distributed cross-functional teams.

·       Working knowledge of agile practices, systems engineering, functional safety, safety of the intended functionality, or continuous-improvement frameworks.

·       Ability to obtain and maintain required vehicle-driving credentials, including a commercial driver license
