About this role

Job Description: The goal of the School-Based Triage Telehealth Therapist role is to ensure that consumers and their families receive compassionate, strength focused, and person-centered treatment with the scope of practice regulations governing CCBHCs, including the use of evidence-based practices through school and outpatient-based services. This position will also provide therapeutic interventions, individual assessments, treatment planning, and collaborate with other agency staff, school staff, and other external agencies while following HIPAA and all other applicable regulations.

What you'll be doing:

- Act as primary contact for the Cullman County School Based telehealth system.

- Triaging needs of callers for information, referrals, crisis intervention or therapy.

- Conducting comprehensive individual assessments, including for suicidal/homicidal risk.

- Conducting individual/family/group therapy sessions.

- Collaborating with internal and external partners for continuity of care.

- Developing clinical treatment plans, conducting follow-ups, crisis intervention.

- Completing documentation in the electronic health record in a timely manner.

- Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

- Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology, or other behavioral health related field

- Licensure preferred but not required

- Clinical experience working with youth and their families in behavioral health preferred

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language

- Computer literacy including use of Microsoft Office, internet applications, and use of Electronic Health Records

- Demonstrate the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team and community partners in a demanding and dynamic environment

- Knowledge of DSM and community resources

- Must be able to maintain ethical requirements

- Strong organizational skills with effective time management skills

- Flexibility to work with school staff, clinical staff, clients and their families via telehealth

- Skills to effectively engage with consumers and community partners and deal with difficult or demanding situations in a friendly and constructive manner

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze alternative solutions and work to resolve issues in a timely manner

- Knowledge of community resources, advocacy, crisis de-escalation and intervention techniques, and an understanding of trauma informed, recovery-oriented, and evidence-based practices.

- Demonstrated experience with diverse populations receiving behavioral health treatment, including delivery of treatment to individuals with severe mental illness, substance use disorders, neurodiverse conditions, and psychosocial needs (poverty, homelessness, justice involvement, etc.
