About this role

Job Title: Chef/Family Assistant

Location: New York, NY (10023)

Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week; W2 position

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 12:00 PM-8:00 PM; Wednesday-Sunday in the summer months; flexibility required for occasional evenings, weekends, travel support, and additional coverage needs

Compensation: 120,000-140,000 annual salary, based on experience; health benefits

Start Date: ASAP

Requirements

- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Maintain a smoke-free environment
- Comfortable signing a confidentiality agreement (NDA)
- Professional cooking experience, ideally with experience managing varied dietary preferences
- Comfortable providing companionship and support to a neurodivergent teenager
- Comfortable supporting a household with two large dogs

Key Responsibilities

Meal Support

- Prepare and cook healthy dinners approximately 2-3x/week
- Assist with meal preparation for gatherings and holidays
- Take into consideration dietary preferences and restrictions when preparing meals; comfort preparing multiple meals when needed
- Support larger-scale entertaining during busier seasons
- Manage grocery shopping and coordinate ingredients needed for meals
- Maintain organized pantry and food inventory systems

Family Support

- Assist with scheduling and appointments for family needs
- Provide occasional overnight support when parents are traveling for neurodivergent teenager
- Research resources and information that may support neurodivergent teenager
- Have an awareness of household schedules and upcoming needs

Pet Care

- Provide occasional feeding and walking support for dogs
- Coordinate veterinary and grooming appointments
- Maintain pet supplies
- Administer pet medications when needed
- Provide pet sitting during family travel

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

- Handle administrative tasks such as health insurance claims and household-related paperwork
- Assist with event, holiday, and guest preparation
- Make reservations for restaurants, events, and activities
- Appointment and event coordination
- Assist with travel planning and logistics

Inventory & Errands

- Maintain household supply awareness and inventory, including restocking pantry, fridge, pet supplies, and other household supplies
- Coordinate household orders and subscriptions
- Manage returns and dry cleaning
- Assist with mail and package handling, including breaking down boxes

Vendor & Property Oversight

- Coordinate with vendors and household service providers
- Research and assist with repairs, quotes, and household projects
- Serve as a liaison between household members and other members of the household team

Household Organization & Maintenance

- Maintain existing household organization systems
- Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
- Assist with indoor plant care

Vehicle Management

- Schedule vehicle maintenance
- Fueling, cleaning, and organizing of vehicles
- Track vehicle registration and insurance
