Position Objective

The Wheelchair Agent assists airline passengers who require or request wheelchair transportation services throughout the airport while delivering exceptional customer service. This role is essential in ensuring passengers receive safe, courteous, and efficient assistance throughout their travel experience.

General Qualifications

- Must be 18 years of age or older

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Reliable transportation

- Eligible to work in the United States

- Ability to pass an FBI background check

- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply; second language proficiency is preferred but not required

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous customer service experience preferred

- Professional demeanor and appearance

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Positive attitude and willingness to assist others

- Passion for helping people from diverse backgrounds

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Duties and Responsibilities

- Safely transport passengers throughout airport terminals and facilities

- Assist passengers in and out of wheelchairs as needed

- Provide directions and general airport information

- Deliver exceptional customer service to passengers, airline personnel, and the public

- Coordinate assignments and passenger information with dispatch and airline gate agents

- Comply with all Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements and security procedures

- Complete incident reports for accidents or unusual events

- Maintain accurate wheelchair trip logs and related documentation

- Support operational needs and perform other duties as assigned

- May be cross-trained and assigned to additional airport service roles as needed

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to lift, carry, and support up to 75 pounds or more

- Must be able to push wheelchairs and assist passengers safely

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and reach frequently throughout the shift

- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

- Ability to remain active for extended periods during the workday

Work Environment

This position is performed in an active airport environment with constant interaction with passengers, airline personnel, airport staff, and the public. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, moderate noise levels, and a fast-paced operational setting.
